The Siemens Child Development Center has a unique opening for a long term substitute teacher in our preschool classrooms.
Position is open November 18- March 2025. Position hours: 8:15 am-4:45 pm. This is a temporary, contract position hired in partnership with ACARA. Teachers at Siemens Child Development Center work in a collaborative, team based culture and are inspired by the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy and the RIE philosophy.
Successful candidates are filled with an attitude of respect, anticipation, wonder and joy when working with children. Our ideal candidates are attuned observers, listeners, and communicators. Enjoy spending time with children out of doors daily. Are life-long learners, eager to share their knowledge and genuinely curious about learning more about teaching young children.

Responsibilities of the position include: Supporting the daily play and work of our school through curriculum development and implementation that is responsive to children's interests; open and constructive communication with colleagues and parents; spending time outdoors daily.
Prerequisite requirements: Candidates must have some experience working with young children, preferably in a child care setting. No degree is required but preference will be given to candidates who are a step 6 or above. Specific training and on-going mentoring will be provided. Ability to commit to the full-time frame. Time off is provided for Christmas and Spring break. All candidates must pass a Background Check, be Enrolled in the Oregon Child Care Criminal History Registry and have a valid Oregon food handler's card prior to employment.
Additional Program Information: Siemens is an employer sponsored Child Development Center at the company's headquarters in suburban Wilsonville, OR. Siemens provides a full day program (7:45-5) and operates on a full year schedule.
The position offers a competitive hourly rate beginning at $20 per hour.
