Infrastructure Engineer - Senior

St. Louis, MO / Remote

Position Overview:

The primary focus lies in improving a managementframework for extensive computational infrastructure by the means ofautomation. Emphasis is placed on OS patching, Vulnerability Management, andtheir mitigations and remediations in the Windows and Linux world.

Utilizing a blend of proprietary and commercialsoftware, our team orchestrates the deployment and oversight of a vastcomputational infrastructure supporting diverse software engineering teams.This role plays a pivotal part in establishing architectural strategies andstandards to optimize the management of software development environmentresources, promoting efficiency and consistency in resource provisioning andmanagement, both on-premises and in public cloud environments.

The incumbent will directly contribute to and guideteams in crafting automation solutions for operational and software developmentendeavors.

Additional responsibilities encompass enhancinginternally developed applications and crafting declarative code using toolssuch as Puppet and Ansible.

Key Skills:

  • Proficiency in designing andimplementing automation solutions for operational and software developmentteams. Experience with tools like Puppet and Ansible would be essential.
  • Strongcommunication and collaboration skills to work effectively withcross-functional teams, including Automation Specialists, DevOps, andInfrastructure Engineers.
  • Ability to analyze complextechnical issues and develop effective solutions to improve efficiency andreliability of infrastructure management.
  • Some experience andunderstanding of configuring and managing large-scale infrastructure componentsusing configuration management tools.
  • Familiarity with DevOpsmethodologies and practices, including continuous integration, continuousdeployment (CI/CD), and version control systems like Git.
  • Willingness to stay updated withthe latest technologies and trends in automation, DevOps, and infrastructuremanagement to drive innovation and improvement within the organization.

Desirable Skills:

  • Architectural Design: Capability to contribute to the establishment of architectural strategies and standards for managing software development environment resources.
  • Cloud Computing: Knowledge of public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including provisioning and managing resources in a cloud environment.
  • Technical documentation: Process and Tool documentation to share with teammates and other teams.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree with a preferable emphasis in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Engineering.
  • SW Development (5+ yrs) experience with Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Puppet, Ansible, and web applications development highly desirable. Any experience in Ruby, PHP, and SQL is also desirable.
  • Windows System Administration experience (5+ yrs)
    • Server & Client OS
    • Microsoft Apps (Teams, Office, PowerAutomate, PowerBI, etc.)
    • Break-fix and troubleshooting skills both on individual endpoints and at scale
  • Linux System Administration experience (2+ yrs)
    • RHCE is a plus
    • Break-fix and troubleshooting skills both on individual endpoints and at scale
    • PXE and Kickstart experience also desirable
  • Vulnerability Management in Linux and Windows environments

The salaryrange for this position is $121,400 to $218,500 and this role is eligible toearn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on thesuccessful candidate's work location as well as additional factors, includingjob-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
