The primary purpose of the Field Application Engineer is to drive technical wins, adoption and expansion by serving as a key resource in pre-sales, upselling, and cross-selling activities. The Field Application Engineer 2 builds relationships with individual contributors within customer businesses, evaluates and provides input on customer technical needs and opportunities, and supports execution of technical initiatives and campaigns to drive long-term growth.

Job Responsibilities
• Builds and maintains relationships with peer-level individual contributors within customer business.
• Drives customer awareness of products in employee's focused technical specialty. With limited support, delivers technical presentations and demonstrations to convey the benefits of technology to prospective customers.
• Listens actively internally and with customers. Identifies customer discontinuities - demand, QoR, competitive. Uncovers technical and business requirements and qualifies new opportunities and the technical viability of a lead. Completes visit reports on meaningful interactions with customer.
• Partners closely with Account Technology Managers, Technical Account Managers, and/or Account Managers within the region to align on technical challenges and opportunities and collaborate on execution plan.
• Shares account information, evaluation results, competitive information, technology challenges with sales teams, management, and R&D, as required. Engages in collaborative communication with R&D and Product Engineering organizations as a representative of specific customer and sales needs.
• Executes technical benchmarking and evaluations.
• Drives products into customer projects by creating methodology and flows; may include infrastructure and integration into a customer's environment and the identification of pilot projects.
• With support from my more senior Field AE, provides input to Account Manager on correct license mix and ratios.
• Assists in execution of deployment plan with some support from more senior Field AEs. Identifies obstacles to customer deployment. With support, creates custom solutions so customers can deploy products; demonstrates effective use.
• Responds when customers encounter issues and connects with Support AEs, where appropriate. Secures business run-rate through customer satisfaction.
• Completes product and/or sales training, ensuring the most up-to-date and relevant knowledge of Siemens solutions and go-to-market strategies. Develops knowledge of Siemens EDA's strengths and weaknesses and the ability to position cross-platform solutions adjacent to primary focus areas.
• Shadows mentorship discussions and may provide guidance based on personal experiences to more junior Field AEs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience
• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 1 year of related experience.
• Practical competence with core functionality of supported products, including the creation of scripts and API extensions.
• Knowledge of Siemens EDA's strengths and weaknesses and the ability to position cross-platform solutions adjacent to primary focus areas.
• Effective communication skills, including writing clearly about complex technical or business topics.
• Ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Knowledge of the customer's business and the ability to present basic sales strategies considering customer buying behaviors.

If you reside in the San Francisco Bay Area the total cash compensation range for this position is $122,500 to $232,800 with 20% of this being comprised of an annual incentive target. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
