Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled IndustrySpecialist with extensive experience in the Electrification or Electronicsindustry to join our dynamic team. As an Industry Specialist, you will bring tobear your deep knowledge of electrification or electronics and expertise inFinite Element Analysis (FEA) to provide technical guidance, support, andinnovative solutions to our customers and internal teams. You will also definethe mechanical business strategy for electrification or electronics. Your rolewill additionally involve collaborating with product management, incorporatingfeedback from customers and sales teams to enhance the Simcenter MechanicalPortfolio. The individual will be based in EMEA but will have a global focus,supporting various regions.

The Mechanical Business Development teamhelps develop solutions to customer problems by working closely with theSimcenter Industry Team to create and capture customer value. This involvesworking with the sales, marketing, and product management teams, as well assenior management. In addition, the team supports customer engagements to drivethe business forward.

Key performance indicators for the positioninclude revenue growth within the different industries and the development andexecution of a strategic business plan for the Mechanical domain.

Responsibilities

The role has two key functions:

Business development. Supporting the salesand marketing teams to drive business for Simcenter Mechanical within therespective electronics/electrification Industries. This includes:

Define and implement an agreed businessplan.

Align the plan with the industry manager,all solution domains, and product management.

Get agreement from the broader Siemenssoftware organization, especially within the Siemens software sales, andmarketing teams.

Developing sales and marketing collateralin support of the Mechanical Domain, including things like industry salesinitiatives, aligned with Industry strategy and Digital Threads.

Collaborate outside of the team withmembers of the Simcenter Industries / Business development teams.

Training the sales team through regularenablement sessions.

Visiting and presenting to Industrycustomers at dedicated events, both internal and external.

Work with strategic customers and positionSiemens in higher management engagements as a digitalization partner.

Bring value by identifying and quantifyingmarket opportunities and how to realize them (e.g., internal investment orlooking for external solutions: buy, build, or partner). This involves:

Identify and quantify market opportunitiesas a mentorship to the Product and Industry management.

Apply the existing capabilities of theSimcenter Mechanical Domain toolset (Simcenter 3D, Simcenter FEMAP) to completeapplications and solutions for current and future challenges in the electronicsor electrification industries.

Engage with the Application Specialist teamto develop new solutions to customers' problems.

Working with Siemens DISW Industry teamsand Academic Partners to identify and validate mid- to long-term needs.

Working with Product Management to defineguidance to product roadmaps.

Identify harmonies across the differentsolution domains and other opportunities to grow the respective industries.

Required skills:

  • Proven experience in a sales or business development role.
  • Demonstrated ability in an industry going through electrification or the electronics industry
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English language, other languages beneficial).
  • A person who has initiative and the ability to work in a globally distributed organization and across cultures.
  • Ability to work in an open, collaborative team, with a focus on excellence.
  • Demonstrate strategic business planning experience (able to develop and drive long-term business plans).
  • Ability and willingness to travel globally up to 30%.

Preferred Skills:

  • Background in the use of Mechanical simulation, such as 3D Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), Finite Element Analysis, and/or Multiphysics simulation.
  • Experience selling engineering solutions to industrial companies.
  • Completed professional Sales Training
  • Experience with Challenger Sales approach.
  • Member of Industry relevant association or professional society, presented at their conferences on mechanical-related topics
  • Product management experience
