Job Description

Siemens Digital Industries Software is looking for a DevOps Engineer with broad cloud experience who will be responsible for maintaining, executing, and deploying external cloud environments for customers and engineering divisions. Selected candidates will assume immediate roles in support of EDA cloud initiatives within DI SW and become an integral part of the cloud enablement team, focused on creating managed services and customer environments. The role will require deep understanding of infrastructure services available in AWS, Azure, and GCP and integration within a secure enterprise network.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Utilize knowledge of cloud architecture and necessary implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, containers, orchestration, scalability, etc.) to develop Managed Cloud Services
  • Ensure high availability of existing secure environments in external cloud space.
  • Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot complex problems, designing and implementing solutions spanning private, public and hybrid cloud models and use internal collaboration tools to document efforts and resolution of customer issues.
  • Communicate with customers and have investigative type questioning to help resolve their issues.
  • Use Linux and Windows skills to help configure hosts in secure environments using industry best practices and procedures.
  • Expected to deploy highly secure environments and handle all aspects of driving the project to completion including requirements gathering, creating a schedule by setting expectations, working with engineers in deploying specific software and providing proper cloud infrastructure to handle specialized secure environments.
  • Work closely with other engineering teams to ensure all aspects of providing a highly secure environment are met prior to giving access.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or relevant field
  • 3-5+ years of experience designing, executing, and supporting a variety of IT cloud solutions
  • DevOps: Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Packer, Git, and Docker
  • Experience with the fundamentals of Linux and Windows administration and scripting languages (e.g., Shell scripts & PowerShell)
  • Experience coding using a development language - Python or Golang preferred
  • Experience with one of the major observability platforms - logs, metrics, and traceability.
  • Familiarity with data security, data isolation, firewalls, and best practices in multi-tenant environment
  • Excellent problem analysis and problem-solving skills - comfortable leading incident resolution
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, partners, and customers - verbal and written
  • Ability to develop and present technical concepts to a business audience
  • Strong commitment to high quality work and timely deliverables
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management

Preferred Qualification:

  • Familiar with SRE concepts - scalability, availability, maintainability, and portability
  • Cloud architecture and operations certifications for AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools and strong understanding of network architecture and application development methodologies, waterfall to agile (SAFe), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
  • Strong understand and experience with virtualization and container platforms - Kubernetes, and OpenShift

The salary range for this position is $126,100 to $ 227,000 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
