About the role

Siemens EDA is seeking a Corporate Support Application Engineer to be based out of Munich with focus on the Calibre line of products.

The primary purpose of the position is to work closely with customers to manage the technical engagement and drive the adoption of Siemens EDA Calibre software tools.

  • To provide best in class technical support to Calibre customers located in Munich with a closer focus on LVS, DRC & PERC. This will also include driving techdays/workshops/meetups & other face to face events where support teams get to deliver technical presentation and tag-team with field organization to increase product coverage and growth
  • To develop close relationships with customers to be able to assess their technical requirements and the options/ability for Siemens EDA's Calibre solutions to improve and further drive product enablement. This can be done with proactive or reactive support models based on customer need and alignment with field teams.
  • To drive products into customer projects to ensure adoption by creating methodology and flows; this may include infrastructure and integration into a customer's environment and the identification of pilot projects for tool use and the debugging and bring-up of new methodologies and flows.
  • Collaborate with field teams to uncover or qualify new opportunities, the technical viability of a lead and communicate the opportunity clearly to the sales team. Use this information to establish success criteria for technical engagements that effectively position Siemens EDA areas of strength.
  • To provide technical leadership on product support topics for PERC in the region and be able to drive technical interlocks with worldwide teams for learnings and insight that will be then feedback to the factory teams.

We are seeking a highly motivated, results oriented and accountable person that strives on working in an international environment.

The position will be located out of Munich and supporting customers around this location.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • BSEE or equivalent is required; MSEE preferred
  • Proven experience as an Application Engineer or significant experience in customer environment exposed to physical verification (DRC, DFM) and circuit verification tools (LVS, PERC, PEX). Experienced analog or physical designers are welcome
  • Broad understanding of Physical Verification/Circuit Verification/Extraction/DFM methodologies and flows. EM/IR hands on or understanding would be a plus
  • Expert level scripting / programming skills (TCL/Tk, Python) in CAD environment,
  • Familiarity with rule decks writing (ideally Calibre TVF, SVRF)
  • Awareness of competitive tool requirements, net lists/interfaces, format.
  • Experience with competitive tools and flows would be an asset.
  • Knowledgeable in compute farms grid setting and monitoring.
  • Working familiarity with Unix and Linux OS
  • Able to quickly develop deep understanding of technology and able to explain and optimize results
  • Able to prioritize and document all activities based on business ROI
  • Able to uncover new business opportunities and articulate the potential to Sales Management
