The Application Engineer (AE) role is one of the most critical roles in Siemens EDA and as an expert AE in the advanced packaging space, you'll be working at the forefront of one of today's most exciting, fast paced areas of hardware design. Customers face new challenges as the IC and Package/PCB worlds merge and in this role, you're engineering ingenuity will be critical to apply Siemen's portfolio of technologies to address the challenges these customers face.
As a 3DIC SI/PI Applications Engineer, you're responsible for driving the technical engagements with customers for Siemen's Signal Integrity, Power Integrity and EM products focused on the area of 2.5D/3D IC heterogenous packaging. You'll work collaboratively with a wide range of customers from startups to large enterprise organizations with the objective of understanding their needs, mapping Siemens solutions to the customer problem, performing product demonstrations, and managing evaluations and benchmarks with the customers. Being a subject matter expert, you'll also take a leadership role in helping other AEs become familiar with these new packaging technologies and assisting them in applying our solutions to this design space.

With the fast pace of technology in this area, another critical element of the role will be to provide guidance on technology trends in 2.5D/3D IC package analysis to Siemens' product R&D teams to ensure roadmaps aligns with the customer needs. Responsibilities Include:
The overall responsibility is to drive the technical execution of the customer engagement strategy for Siemens SI/PI/EM analysis tools in the 2.5D/3D IC package technology domain.
- Work with the sales team to define the strategy and tactics to achieve a technical win.
- Lead the technical engagement and collaborate with the broader AE organization as a subject matter expert.
- An understanding of the basic elements of a technical campaign - decision process, success criteria, committed usage upon success, and, of course, solving the customer's problem.
- Establish regular face-to-face meetings with the customer to build trust and identify challenges the customer may be facing.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the customer's problem(s) and work with the sales team to provide proposals on solutions that address the need.
- Design and develop automated solutions around the Siemens EDA product line that can address the customer's need.
- Collect and communicate customer feedback, competitive information, and general field intelligence back to the R&D teams with the goal of aligning product direction and roadmaps to the customer needs within the territory.
Job Qualification:
- Minimum of a BS Degree or equivalent
- Prior experience in Signal Integrity / Power Integrity / Electromagnetics with design. Applications Engineering experience a plus.
- Python / VBScript automation skills
- 2+ years of related experience in SI, PI, EM for IC, Package, or PCB design
- Excellent communication skills
- Professional customer presence
- Business travel required (approximately 30%)
This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Employment is contingent on either verifying the U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.

The total cash compensation range for this position is $142,800 to $285,600 with 20% of this being comprised of an annual incentive target. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
