The role

As a Workato Developer, you will play a crucial role in helping our organization streamline and enhance business processes using Workato. Your primary focus will be on connecting various applications and automating tasks to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.

In this position, you'll have the opportunity to learn about the architecture and development of our integrations using advanced technologies like Workato and other modern automation tools. You'll collaborate closely with a dynamic engineering team, contributing to the future of our integration efforts.

Where you'll work

You must be located in the US to be considered for this position. You'll have the flexibility to choose between remote work (State permitting) or working from our office in Austin or Dallas.

What you'll be doing

  • Collaborating with senior team members in the creation, setup, testing, and deployment of Workato recipes, progressively taking on more complex automation while ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams, including technical and non-technical stakeholders, to understand business needs and translate them into effective, scalable Workato solutions.
  • Converting design plans for customer integrations and automation into fully functioning Workato recipes, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of current recipes, processes, checklists, and best practices for future reference and continuous improvement.
  • Reviewing, configuring, adjusting, and improving Workato connectors, triggers, and actions to meet specific business needs, optimizing workflow and data connectivity.
  • Proactively troubleshooting issues in Workato recipes, collaborating with integration team members to ensure timely resolution and minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Assisting in the setup and configuration of Shiftkey customer integrations, ensuring seamless data flows between systems.

What you'll need

  • 4+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong understanding of API integration, RESTful APIs, and how authentication works.
  • Experience with Workato or similar integration tools (e.g., Boomi, Celigo Integrator.io, Mulesoft); a willingness to learn and master Workato is essential.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Ruby, with the ability to write simple custom code when needed to enhance integrations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve integration issues proactively.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A strong willingness to continuously learn and enhance technical proficiency, especially in API development, automation workflows, and emerging integration platforms.
