The role
As a Full Stack Engineer at ShiftKey, you will be a key member of our cross-platform team, focused on enhancing one of our core products. You will collaborate daily with the Product, Design, and Analytics teams, actively participating in discussions where your opinions and input will be valued. We use high-quality tools for code review to ensure code quality and maintainability, and we maintain high test coverage to ensure the reliability and stability of our codebase. Our tech stack: PHP 8+, Laravel, MySQL, Vue.js, AWS.

Where you'll work

You have to be located in Poland to be considered for this position. You'll have the flexibility to choose between remote work or working from our office in Warsaw.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing and developing software applications, performing coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process.
  • Understanding customers, business goals, and team goals to ensure work will have the greatest customer impact.
  • Defining deliverables (stories) that can be completed within a finite timeframe.
  • Proactively identifying new opportunities and advocating for and implementing improvements to the current state of projects.
  • Making informed decisions by consulting the Product Manager and/or Product Trio and balancing details with the big picture.
  • Proactively communicating and coordinating the team's requirements with other groups and teams in engineering.
  • Defining and delivering well-scoped milestones for a project.
  • Actively leveling up less-experienced members of the team by helping them with their craft, providing guidance, and setting a good example. Being seen by other engineers as a valuable technical advisor who can help them work through tough technical problems.

What you'll need

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Good knowledge of PHP and familiarity with either Laravel or Symfony frameworks.
  • Competent in writing clean and efficient MySQL queries for database management and optimization.
  • Experience in frontend development, ideally with Vue.js.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Fluency in both Polish and English.
