The R&D Engineering Co-op position is for our Product Engineering Group focused in the Commercialization Engineering or Process Engineering. The co-op will be assigned a mentor and at least one “real world” project to complete during their assignment.

he R&D Engineering Co-op position is for our Product Engineering Group focused in the Commercialization Engineering or Process Engineering. We are looking for innovative thinkers that are proven problem solvers. The co-op will be assigned a mentor and at least one “real world” project to complete during their assignment. 

  • Initially the individual would be expected to become skilled at making and testing paint. 
  • They would be responsible for assisting in optimizing formulations and processes through Design of Experiments and statistical analysis of the data.  
  • Potential to work with Operations for site projects.  
  • They will also be expected to participate in monthly and quarterly meetings presenting their work as needed. 

This position is for a minimum of 8 months starting in January 2026 through August 2026.

EDUCATION

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
  • Be a rising or current sophomore, Junior or Senior in college or university at the start of the Co-Op program
  • Must have a HS diploma or GED

Preferred

  • Currently enrolled as Junior or Senior 
  • Chemical Engineering major 
  • Minimum 2.8 GPA

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Must have access to reliable transportation and housing 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be willing to work up to 40 hours per week for a total of 6 months with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred 

  • Skilled at using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Basic understanding of information technology infrastructure and computer platforms
  • Working knowledge of Minitab and Business Objects
