About the Role

What the role is

This position will lead the Hospitality Operations by region, reporting to the VP Operations. Responsible for all processes, programs and operations systems regional. The Head of Operations will be the strategic player and owner of the successful rollout of operational excellence initiatives and improvement actions.

Responsibilities

What you will be doing

Operational Excellence:
• Set the strategic direction and vision for operational excellence across Selina locations.
• Align the operational strategy to support the experience and financial goals.
• Actively participate in the training of operations leaders and teams as a strategic pillar in performance excellence.
• Lead the strategic efforts to establish, implement and comply with standard operating procedures
• Collaborate with the representatives of the different departments to ensure they provide the right level and quality of support to the locations in the assigned country.
• Analyze operational results to come up with improvements and initiatives
• Establish and implement the strategy to ensure compliance with environmental health and safety requirements.
• Drive regional, country and location teams to embody the spirit of the Selina brand and support the roll-out of initiatives to drive awareness, culture and financial performance.

Processes and Systems
• Device and implement policies and systems to track productivity in order to ensure labor efficiency and service
• Work closely with global HR to build processes, guidelines and policies that support operational performance.
• Continually innovate and improve standards, processes and training as the business continues to grow.
• Evaluate all existing operational systems to determine their effectiveness and efficiency and identify opportunities for improvement
• Stay informed of all industry practices and innovations that may be applicable to Selina''s operational excellence goals

Requirements (years of experience, area of experience, specific knowledge, language)

What you need for the role
• Master's degree in hotel management, operations or similar.
• An excellent track record of operations and results delivery throughout their career.
• At least 10-15 years of experience in multi-site operations or occupying a senior management role in hospitality.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with experience in taking a business through a phase of growth/expansion.
• Smart and strategic, but a real operator who is happy to be hands-on and get into the details and lead from the front.
• Be entirely at ease operating in an autonomous environment and have a sense of urgency, high energy levels and thrive with low support.
• A leader with exceptional people development skills - the ability to inspire and engage large teams but also encourage a culture of learning, training and support.
• A structured individual who can bring process and discipline to the operating model - creating a framework that does not stifle creativity or entrepreneurial flair.
• Analytical and highly numerate with the ability to use data to make informed decisions.
• Strong management and negotiation skills.
• The ability to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact.
• Experience working in multicultural environments.
• Ability and flexibility to travel at least 50% of the time.
• Residence and permission to work in a country in the region.
