Director of Security & Safety Operations
Location: Plano, TX or San Antonio, TX
Salary: $130,000 - $140,000
Reports To: Vice President, Global Clients Data Center Group
About the Role
The Director of Security & Safety Operations is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing datacenter security and safety operations across regional facilities. This role encompasses man-guarding functions, security operations center management, training, audit and compliance, performance metrics, and personnel management. The director is tasked with enhancing safety culture, driving innovation, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with all security and safety standards.

This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to collaborate across teams and business divisions, and a deep understanding of security and safety best practices in a datacenter environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and mentor a team of regional security and safety personnel to ensure operational excellence.
- Work closely with the Securitas VP and client management to execute strategic corporate objectives.
- Develop succession planning and training programs to foster career growth and team engagement.
Security & Safety Operations Management
- Oversee security operations, man-guarding, and security operations center functions across multiple locations.
- Collaborate with branch and embedded resources to maintain high service quality and client trust.
- Develop and implement safety protocols in coordination with the Health & Safety (H&S) manager.
Performance Metrics & Compliance
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements and regulatory standards, maintaining audit readiness at all times.
- Develop processes to identify gaps in security and safety procedures and implement corrective actions.
Innovation & Process Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance security and safety protocols.
- Implement new technologies and best practices to optimize operational efficiency.
- Ensure alignment of security operations with the latest industry trends and compliance requirements.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client security and safety concerns.
- Foster strong relationships with organizational teams, business partners, and contractors.
- Support business development initiatives by collaborating on security and safety strategies.
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (required).
- CPP certification (preferred).
- Additional safety/EHS certifications a plus.
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in security and/or safety operations.
- 10+ years of management experience in datacenter security and guard force management.
- 3-5 years of experience in safety/EHS program management.
- Previous experience working with security contractors is a plus.
Technical & Leadership Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to large audiences.
- Ability to lead teams in a dynamic and high-pressure environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, etc.).
Special Requirements
Travel: Up to 30% travel required, occasionally with limited notice.
Flexible Schedule: Ability to work evenings or weekends as needed.
Passport Required: Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport.
