What will you do?

As a key member of the P-GIS (Primary-Gas Insulated) Industrialization team within the Power Systems organization in North America (NAM), you will be responsible for the development and qualification of welding processes for new product lines as well as for welding processes and metal parts manufacturing technologies at our suppliers' premises (e.g., tanks, shafts).

Your expertise will ensure the manufacturing feasibility and operational efficiency of our Medium Voltage Offer while adhering to Schneider Electric's Performance System (SPS) principles. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance product quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Specify, implement, and qualify welding technologies, processes, and testing equipment for production lines.
  • Conduct manufacturing feasibility studies, utilizing Design for Assembly (DFA) methodologies in collaboration with product design teams, including technology benchmark.
  • Ensure the testability of new product offerings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for welding processes and testing equipment, including collaboration with expert in leakage testing.
  • Specify and setup industrial welding process in supplier premises for critical welded parts.
  • Ensure the transfer of knowledge to the suppliers and support to achieve PPEP/PPAP validation.
  • Setup the control plan in collaboration with the supplier and the receiving inspection strategy with the plant team.
  • Lead technical trials and tests to validate welding technologies and support the installation and commissioning of equipment in manufacturing factories (internal or external).
  • Collaborate with suppliers for equipment development and ensure compliance with Schneider global standards.
  • Perform risk analysis, FMEA, and detailed technical specifications for assembly processes.
  • Drive improvements in energy efficiency and minimize CO2 footprint within manufacturing processes.
  • Share technical expertise with local industrialization and manufacturing teams, promoting best practices and innovative solutions.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • Master's degree in Welding Engineering, or a bachelor's degree with substantial experience in welding processes and industrialization.
  • Proven leadership skills to drive transformation and innovation, including risk analysis and decision-making.
  • Proficiency in welding procedures and state-of-the-art techniques.
  • Good knowledge in sheet metal bending, machining, stamping.
  • Background in mold technologies and surface treatments on metal parts.
  • Experience across multiple sectors is highly appreciated.
