Variable Frequency Drive Technical Project Manager

Summary:

This role is responsible for overseeing MV Variable Frequency Drive solutions orders from placement to project completion. This involves supporting customer projects, coordinating internal processes, supporting post-shipment and warranty activity, and conducting financial analysis. The individual will primarily collaborate with other Schneider entities such as Project Managers, Sales Personnel, and Technical Resources. This position will report to the North American Drives Application Center Manager.

Travel: 10-15% travel requirement primarily in North America.

What will you do?

  • Validate project scope, quotes, schedule, costs, and contract terms, serving as the main link between internal project managers and factories during execution.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive project schedule, ensuring alignment with the PM and sales team.
  • Collaborate with internal manufacturing for seamless project execution.
  • Monitor project progress through kick-off meetings and communication of technical requirements.
  • Lead and manage project performance, verifying task completion, reporting on schedules, and resolving issues.
  • Oversee project closeout, including financial reconciliation and coordination of equipment installation and start-up.
  • Coordinate with internal project managers and support services for after-shipment support.
  • Document lessons learned for future projects.
  • Solve problems effectively to enhance feedback and relationships.
  • Apply a solid understanding of Schneider Electric products and project management processes.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • A four-year degree, preferably a BA/BS in Engineering or Project Management
  • 2-3 years of technical project management experience in an engineering setting
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or higher preferred
  • Experience with Variable Frequency Drives
  • Experience working with SAP
