What Will You Do in This Role?
  • Lead with Impact : Oversee the Domestic and International Transportation and Customs teams, ensuring we provide exceptional service while optimizing costs and productivity.
  • Enhance Customer Experience : Ensure Schneider Electric delivers market-leading service levels and innovative transport solutions that meet our customers' needs.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership : Direct and manage all Transportation and Customs operations in North America, focusing on improving supply chain efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop Comprehensive Plans : Create and implement a strategic transportation plan that enhances customer service and key metrics, including On-Time Delivery, CO2 reduction, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Drive Transformation : Lead initiatives to transform transportation operations, leveraging technology and process improvements to support business growth and enhance operational efficiency.
  • TMS Expertise : Utilize your understanding of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to optimize routing, load planning, and freight management, ensuring streamlined operations.
  • Foster Collaboration : Support contract negotiations with domestic and international transportation providers, promoting a collaborative environment.
  • Drive Operational Excellence : Implement best practices across the network to reduce costs and enhance service delivery, while maintaining a high-quality carrier performance management program.
  • Champion Digital Innovation : Lead with a digital mindset, prioritizing transportation digitization in all strategic initiatives.
  • Sustainable Supply Chain : Advocate for and implement sustainable supply chain practices, focusing on reducing carbon footprints and enhancing eco-friendly transportation solutions.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Ensure strong partnerships with US Customs, adhering to regulations for imports, exports, and Maquiladora operations.
  • Engage Stakeholders : Animate the stakeholder network to foster understanding of Transportation and Customs across Global Supply Chain and Front Office teams.
  • Support and Develop Teams : Provide guidance to all business areas, sponsor key logistics projects, and instill a culture of accountability and employee engagement.
  • Mentorship and Growth : Effectively manage performance, set clear goals and expectations, and mentor direct reports and emerging talent. Ensure robust development and succession planning within the organization.

Qualifications

We recognize that skills and competencies can be demonstrated in various ways, including through life experiences.

This job might be for you if you have:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Global Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role in transport and logistics, specifically as a Director or in a similar capacity.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in transport or related fields
  • Project management and project sponsor experience
  • Strong understanding of a matrixed network a plus
  • US Customs experience preferred, US Customs Brokers License a plus
