Test Engineer

Santiago de Querétaro, Mexico

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Aid in the Design of test solutions for new product introduction programs using a systems approach and standard test platforms where applicable, and in line with engineering technical requirements.
  • Aid in writing and compiling of test software applicable to the test platform & product requirements and in line with project timescales.
  • Development of appropriate test and process documentation, technician & operator training and development of best in class repair diagnostics
  • Support in defining and purchasing test equipment, driving suppliers to reduce cost and improve performance
  • Reducing test costs through yield improvement and hardware cost reduction projects.
  • Sustain and maintain test equipment through the development and implementation of preventative maintenance procedures and specifications.
  • Perform failure analysis on equipment, and implement cost effective improvements necessary to assure the highest possible process and equipment reliability.
  • Preparing procurement documentation including equipment specifications and coordinating equipment upgrades and/or installations with suppliers and internal personnel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • ATS, TVSS, LoadBank & Fire Pump Controllers Experience highly desired.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical & electronic circuit diagrams as well as product specs & BOM's.
  • Well developed oral and written communication skills. Bilingual is desired.
  • Ability to work as part of an integrated project team to tight timescales.
  • Strong organizational skills to complete multiple tasks concurrently are essential.
  • ISO 9000 fundamentals.
  • Basic knowledge of PC based test equipment using PCI based instrument systems.
  • PC programming language fundamentals
  • Ability to fault find to sub-system and component level as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of electronic system assembly techniques eg. Soldering, Wiring, Crimping etc.
  • Experience of dealing with sub contract companies and driving supply chain to set objectives.
  • Ability to develop and accurately document processes and train technicians and operators on equipment procedures.
  • Strong knowlegde on test equipment meters, dmm's, hi-pot, mA testers, oscilloscope. PLC's experience highly desired
  • Knowledge of 3 phase systems and configurations.
