Job Title: Tendering Engineer - Digital Power Applications

Mission :

Within the Digital Power Applications team, manage the end-to-end tendering process to produce quotations for Power Monitoring and Automation Solutions and Digital Power transactional products that meets Schneider Electric's business goals.

Meeting the expected service levels of customers to achieve and exceed quotation lead time and quotation to order conversion rates.

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce tenders as necessary according to business priorities and department loading demands;
  • Review and approve tender price/costing estimates and submit for management approval in accordance with the tendering processes;
  • Ensure that formal risk analysis and mitigation is carried out on appropriate tenders and is submitted with approval requests;
  • Ensure efficient processing and handover of the Digital Power orders;
  • Work in collaboration with the external salesforce to support and execute strategies to establish products and solutions during identification phase;
  • Review all enquiries and identify those which can be offered using standard pricing models;
  • Ensure that Standard quotation and pricing tools used within the tendering process, are kept continually updated to meet market needs;
  • Ensure all orders received against a tender are properly verified to be in line with the quotation and all information is present prior to handover to the contract execution team;
  • Be proactive in eliminating any contract-related issue that might lead to non-payment of invoices;
  • Ensure that all opportunities and quotes are correctly entered into the Schneider Electric's CRM tool and that all activities and business intelligence is recorded and maintained in the system.

Skills and attributes:
  • Demonstratable experience of differing tendering procedures. & techniques
  • Knowledge of commercial terms and conditions.
  • Commercial judgement - ability to estimate the potential value of an enquiry/tender, and the chance of success.
  • Automation Solution/Product knowledge, applications and functionality using Power Monitoring Systems, SCADA, Automation, Protection and RTU solutions and products to design appropriate solutions
  • Understanding of HV and LV Electrical distribution systems
  • Sound commercial knowledge of the customer base and their business drivers;
  • Commercial negotiation skills.
  • Sales and marketing techniques / methodology
  • Understanding of competitor offers and up to date switchgear technology.
  • Awareness of the company's manufacturing/purchasing strategy & manufacturing capability.
  • Understanding of the function of other departments to support the tendering process.
  • Knowledge of management philosophies/team building techniques.
  • Interpersonal skills with different cultures.
  • Fully PC & Windows Excel/Word/PowerPoint literate.

Education
  • Degree/HNC level in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Project Management, Commercial Management, Contract Management or Purchasing related training
