We are hiring a Technical Writer Co-op to support Hardware User Manual Development within the Schneider Electric Prosumer North America Hub in Richmond, BC, Canada. Must be available for 8 months minimum.

What will you do?
  • Support design and development of user manuals, quick start guides, application notes, and online help materials for our residential energy products;
  • Use Madcap Flare to write, edit, and publish high-quality documentation, ensuring clarity and consistency in the content;
  • Enhance documentation through creation of line drawings created in Adobe Illustrator;
  • Collaborate directly with engineers and stakeholders throughout the design process;
  • Estimate personal timelines to support effective project scheduling;
  • Explore creative solutions, adopt emerging technologies, and implement best practices to enhance the quality and effectiveness of documentation.

What qualifications will make you successful?
  • Working towards an undergraduate degree or diploma in English or Technical Communications.
  • Proficient in English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of delivering clear and concise documentation.
  • Familiar with technical writing and illustration tools.
  • Ability to follow standards, style, and brand guides.
  • Passion for learning about complex technical concepts and translating them into user-friendly documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and other technical writers.

  • Compensation: The base pay compensation for this full-time position is starting at CAD19.5 per hour for candidates who are B.C. residents. Schneider Electric also offers our employees on fixed-term employment holidays and paid time off.
