Schneider Electric USA, Inc. seeks a Technical Architect - HighPower Switching & Arc Interruption in Morrisville, NC.

Job Description: Direct, execute, and partner with global teams on applied research and advanced product development related to arc management in products like circuit breakers and contactors as applied in electrical equipment like switchboards, panelboards and switchgear. Bring Global breaker expertise and sharing from Global platform from Europe Become both a contributing member within and liaison to other teams of marketing, sales, and product support. Identify key technical opportunities and ensure these opportunities are properly presented and supported. Lead the development of system requirements and methods for system testing. Interface with external customers, regulating technical bodies for the advancement of the state of the art in industry standards, in customer-centric solutions, and in our understanding of current customer issues and opportunities to enrich, vet, and pressure test our internal orientations and activities. Create high level product design options during predevelopment and evaluate against customer needs. Evaluate and recommend partnership opportunities to fulfill the offer vision when internal development is not the best option. Share, mentor, and assist in North American centric product development activities bringing in the international network of global platform for North American product development.

Requirements: Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. Employer will also accept a combination of education and experience equivalent to the above-described degree. Position also requires 10 years of experience in technical or project management, electronics test or design engineering, or a related occupation. Must have at least some experience in the following skills: Managing technical projects in the alternate energy field; Challenging and translating marketing requirements into structured technical requirements (functional view); Developing system requirements and methods for system testing; Creating high level product design options during predevelopment and evaluating against customer needs; Leveraging a global product platform for North America centric development; and Ensuring compliance with International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) Standards.
