Schneider Electric Hub | Research & Engineering Center - Home & Distribution team
We are seeking a Systems Engineer Manager to work in our smart home and energy management platform team. You will be responsible for leading a team to capture stakeholder's requirements and translate these into system design artifacts, guiding the development of new products and services. You will also support the ongoing strategy of the business with technical analysis of upcoming projects and be part of the Engineering planning activities.
You will be working closely with Schneider Global R&D teams. Role requires occassioanl travels.
We design smart connected products and services, this includes, physical devices installed within the home, the cloud platforms that support data collection, analytics, and AI/ML, and the Mobile Apps that allow the user to monitor and control the solution.

You will be working within a multi-disciplined engineering leadership team responsible for:
- Leading a team of Systems Engineers and Technical Business Analysts to support the translation of business and user needs into technical requirements.
- Developing and maintaining system design artifacts for consumption by the global development teams.
- Working collaboratively with project team members and the leadership team to ensure the solution meets business and user needs.
- Influencing external development dependencies and teams, such as internal and external teams or Government working group initiatives.
- Working with the wider organisation to plan short- and long-term deliverables.
- Being the technical entry point for business stakeholders who are looking to foster and incubate ideas.
- Developing strategies to help optimise the Systems Engineering approach.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- A degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent
- Clear leadership experience and comfortable directly managing people and stakeholders
- Experience working within a customer focused development environment.
- Experience of capturing, analysing and specify complex solutions to meet stakeholder requirements.
- Experience of IoT systems in the energy management or smart home space would be advantageous.
- Experience of working as part of a project team. A team player, comfortable engaging proactively with teams across the business
- Strong experience of the Systems/Software engineering lifecycle and commonly used tools such as Jama, Jira, and confluence
- Experience of Model based systems engineering would be advantageous.
- A professional attitude with good written and verbal communications skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively and good personal skills.
- The ability to manage your time and take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Strong project and task management skills.
- A background in hands-on software development an advantage.
