Home & Distribution (Connected Offers) is a division of Schneider Electric focusing on smart home IoT systems designed to bring sustainability, energy efficiency and comfort to residential and small buildings. Working in this division you will enjoy use of the latest IoT technologies and work with some of the most talented engineers in the world.

Mission and responsibilities:

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to work in our smart home and energy management platform team. You will be responsible for the capture of stakeholder's requirements and translating these into system design artifacts to guide the development of new products and services; And support the ongoing strategy of the business with technical analysis of upcoming projects to facilitate planning activities.

We design smart connected products and services, this includes, physical devices installed within the home, the cloud platforms that support data collection and analytics, and the Mobile Apps that allow the user to monitor and control the solution.

You will be working within a multi-disciplined engineering team responsible:
  • To support the translation of business and user needs into technical requirements.
  • To develop and maintain system design artifacts for consumption by the global development teams.
  • To work collaboratively with project team members to ensure the solution meets business and user needs.
  • To influence external development dependencies, such as protocol development or Government working group initiatives.


Skills and attributes:

  • Experience working within a customer focused development environment.
  • Experience of capturing, analyzing, and specifying complex solutions to meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Experience of IoT systems in the energy management or smart home space would be advantageous.
  • Experience of working as a part of a project team. A team player, comfortable engaging proactively with teams across the business.
  • Experience of the Systems/Software engineering lifecycle and commonly used tools such as Jama, Jira, and confluence.
  • Experience of Model based systems engineering would be advantageous.
  • A professional attitude with good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively and good personal skills.
  • The ability to manage your time and take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • An understanding of Basic project management skills.


Education:
  • A degree in an science, technology, engineering, or mathematics discipline or equivalent.
