Systems Application Engineer - Solutions Specialist

Schneider Electric has an opportunity in the Philadelphia area for a Systems Application Engineer - Solutions Specialist! The ideal candidate will be accountable for delivering top-tier engineering in accordance with specifications, standards, budgets, and schedules. Additionally, they will collaborate within a team to undertake the design, installation, and maintenance of building automation control and security management systems.


What will you do?

  • Interpret plans, specifications, drawings, and estimates, and understand the sequence of operation.
  • Lead the resolution of project issues through RFI's, field surveys, and customer communications.
  • Manage incoming requests efficiently from customers, subcontractors, engineers, and project managers while balancing work assignments.
  • Read and understand hardware submittals, perform basic programming, and assist in equipment startup with mentor support.
  • Adhere to engineering standards for hardware and software designs, with a basic understanding of operator workstation use, graphics, and software development.
  • Assist the Project Manager in reviewing contract documentation, coordination drawings, material procurement, and management throughout the project life cycle.
  • Participate in basic field startup processes and contribute to maintaining up-to-date project drawings and documentation during installation for successful job closeout.
  • Remote Support: Complete understanding of remote connectivity methods (Bomgar, etc.), including VPN software when applicable, and accessing and updating password vaults.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong programming knowledge/skills required
  • Knowledge of electrical principle
  • Control systems/HVAC systems knowledge a plus (but not required)
  • Knowledge of HVAC a plus, AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio
  • Local to the Philadelphia area
  • Have a valid driver's license
