System Drives are a core technology in the Schneider Electric portfolio which help industrial customers decarbonize and electrify critical processes. The candidate will be the technical expert to support the Pre-Sales managers who are coordinating the efforts of the Drives activity with country front offices on major pursuits. Your mission will be to help the team define a path to overcome any technical or economic challenges of a project to ensure successful prescription and close major pursuits. Seconding a senior prescription manager, the ideal candidate will have a proven knowledge of LV and MV variable speed drives technologies, and a good sense of customer's applications in several segments.

Success in this role will depend on your ability to build and maintain relationships with the Drives activity teams and country specialists as well as demonstrating a high degree of technical competence to support them. This position will report into the Global System Drives Pre-Sales team.

Your principal missions:

Pursuit support:
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for System Drives
  • Understands standards, competition ranges and product to provide counter argument
  • Provides technical training sessions in a professional presentation format for Pre-Sales managers and internal sales, occasionally customer personnel, and industry professionals
  • Supports in building validated architectures around solutions using Drives
  • Interface with Schneider Electric Electrical Distribution experts

Prescription:
  • Provides prescription support primarily to Pre-Sales managers
  • Coordinates the vendor list approval file from technical compliance analysis to issuing the required documentation, with the support from other Schneider Electric departments (R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, ...)
  • Create or supervise the creation of white papers, application notes and prescription documents
  • Acts as a liaison for the PreSales managers and country specialists with R&D and factories

You are:

Electrical or mechanical engineer with at least 10 years' successful and relevant experience in Variable Speed Drives.

And you have:
  • Able to be flexible to meet time zone challenges, and work with global colleagues
  • Ability to lead through influence without having direct control
  • Equally comfortable working independently and collaborating with others having divergent perspectives and skill sets, delivering results in consistent and established timelines
  • Excellent problem resolution skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluent English
  • Experience in LV/MV electrical distribution
  • Cross-functional experience including sales, marketing, and engineering
  • Prior experience in a major industrial firm in the domains of Metals, Mining, Minerals, Water, or Chemicals industries
  • Prior experience at an EPC or process equipment manufacturer
  • An excellent level of English (read, spoken and written) to collaborate with our teams and customers
