We are now looking for a Sustainability Expert - Sustainable Packaging & EcoDesign for our North America team in Home & Distribution. The primary location for this position is based in Apodaca Nuevo Leon, Mexico. You will be involved in efforts to provide intelligent solutions to help customers create a productive and comfortable environment for its occupants, reduce energy consumption and run building operations efficiently.

What do you get to do in this position?

  • Lead the Sustainable Packaging program and execute the 2025 strategy, including reviewing the roadmap prioritization and solutions available in market, assessing the environmental impact, and tracking progress with impact analysis (cost, lead time, project management).
  • Support procurement department and the facilities in engaging with packaging suppliers.
  • Support the development / execution of the future products with the EcoDesign program.
  • Calculate carbon footprint of various product offerings in H&D line of business.
  • Ensure capacity building, training of H&D NAM workforce in various sustainability principles such as EcoDesign, circular economy, and other topics in Schneider sustainability school.
  • Work and align with the corporate teams on the different sustainability commitments, strategies, and initiatives.
  • Work closely with standardization team and participate in relevant standardization groups, regulatory bodies and organizations defining the future standards applicable to sustainable solutions.
  • Participate in workshops and training to develop skills and capabilities, when required.

Qualifications

This job might be for you if:

  • You have a bachelor's in science (B.S.) degree in Engineering (Environmental, Packaging, Chemical, Electrical, Materials, Industrial, Electronics, Mechatronics or similar).
  • You have 3+ years of experience in sustainability, eco-design, materials science, preferably within an industrial environment.
  • Y ou are knowledgeable in the field of technical climate solutions or closely related subject areas such as efficiency, electrification, and materials.
  • You are well adept in assessing carbon footprint of product, project and business and well versed with the GHG Protocol and other related science-based frameworks.
  • You have solid experience and can manage, organize, and optimize databases & information.
  • You have excellent communication skills (English/Spanish), both verbally and written.
  • Y ou are analytic, proactive, change agent, organized, highly motivated, and responsible.

  • Having knowledge of Schneider Home & Distribution offers is a plus. Additionally, experience in project management and/or Agile will be considered a differentiator.
