Staff Technician

A Staff Technician is a hands-on role that provides engineering support, problem analysis, technical assistance and process improvements on various and complex automated machines. Also provide technical support and training to Fabrication Setup and Operate A's that includes the machine setup, machine functionality, repair and processes.

There are three positions available, one on each of the following shifts.

1st Shift works from 6:30 am to 2:51 pm Monday - Friday.

2nd Shift works from 2:30 pm to 10:51 pm Monday - Friday.

3rd shift works 10:30 pm to 6:51 am Sunday - Thursday

Position for the CAFI Department.

What will you do?
  • Provide continuous on the floor support by assisting Fabrication Setup A's, Toolmakers, Maintenance, etc. in troubleshooting, repairing equipment and tooling to ensure production goals are met.
  • Provide technical assistance in new product development and continuous improvement through the design and purchase of equipment, materials and tooling.
  • Understand and analyze detailed machine specifications in order to drive production improvements and scrap reductions.
  • Provide technical assistance in the mechanical/electrical operation of complex automated machines.
  • Work with the Quality department to maintain , and improve, product quality standards through the optimization of the machine, materials and processes.
  • Perform root cause analysis to drive sustained corrective actions to issues that are not part of a specific project.
  • Must have an experienced understanding of the parts and working components of automated machines that form materials with dies & punches to include how they operate , their distinctiveness and how they should be maintained and operated to maximize production quantities and meet all quality requirements.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments and usage of standard mechanics tools.
  • Actively participate in cross function Teams to drive sustained improvements in production and machine operating efficiency.

What qualifications will make you successful?
  • 2+ years hands on Mechanical / Tooling / Manufacturing Experience in an Automated Industrial Environment preferred.
  • Self-motivated to innovate / explore new technologies to constantly upgrade the technology deployed.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
