Software Engineering Intern (Summer 2025)

Our Digital Services and Software team is building upon our leading Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) solution by leveraging the Internet of Things. Our teams in Andover, MA and Foxboro, MA are responsible for bringing together power & cooling infrastructure within the data center into a cloud-based monitoring and management solution. This application, EcoStruxure IT Expert, is changing the way that Data Centers and Edge environments are managed by providing actionable insights that give data center managers back more time in their day, improve energy efficiency, and minimize application downtime.

This position is for a Software Engineering Intern (with a focus on UI/UX design) within a stream aligned team building EcoStruxure IT features that address customers' reporting and device management needs. What will you do?
  • Participate in planning meetings, developer documentation, and other aspects of
    the software development lifecycle.
  • Write automated tests and perform manual testing under the direction of more
    senior engineers.
  • Fix software defects.
  • Write quality code under the direction of more senior engineers.
  • Collaborate and communicate well with other team members.
  • Demonstrate a continuous desire to refine your craft and learn from mistakes.

What qualifications will make you successful?
  • Pursuing a degree in computer science or related field.
  • A strong technical aptitude.
  • Interest in building front-end web applications.
  • Passionate about clean design.
  • Familiarity with TypeScript or JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and write quality code on past projects.
  • Demonstrated understanding of computer science fundamentals (data
    structures, algorithms, etc.)
  • Ability to review unfamiliar code, recognize problems, and suggest solutions.
  • An interest for staying plugged into the technology community (attending
    conferences, meetups, blog posts, open source projects, etc).
