Senior Systems Modeling Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Modeling Engineer with an outstanding aptitude for multi-disciplinary modeling to join the Schneider Systems Modeling team.

In this role the successful candidate will use physics-based and/or data-driven techniques to develop and optimize new architectures with an objective to sharpen Schneider's Solar, Storage, and EV charging product strategies.

What will you do?
  • Collaborate with a broad group of product development teams to develop high-fidelity and highly accurate real-time models for new power electronics systems and collaborate throughout the product development stage
  • Perform accurate modeling and simulation of complex energy storage and power electronics converters which will be used to assess, and design optimized energy storage systems and power electronics converters
  • Uses physics-based and /or data-driven modeling techniques to create scalable system models that drive product specifications
  • Use high-fidelity system models to optimize target architecture to various constraints (performance, weight, cost, life, etc)
  • Develop and integrate solar, battery, power electronics, thermal, load, and control models
  • Develop automated modeling infrastructure for refining system specifications; and conducting techno-economical, and mission profile usage analysis
  • Own product KPI tracking (size, weight, performance, and cost) and publish regular updates
  • Influence product strategies based on modeling results

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
  • Master's degree + in Physics or Engineering from an accredited University (PhD strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated background in using physics-based and data driven modeling techniques.
  • Strong background in power conversion and battery modeling
  • Experience with cost models is strongly desired
  • In-depth knowledge of energy management ecosystems incorporating solar/storage inverters, communication, and control.
  • Strong modeling background in MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow, Python, and Git
  • In-depth knowledge of codes and standards (NEC/NFPA, UL, Rule 21, NEM 3.0, IEEE standards).
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication / presenting / influencing skills required

The compensation range for this full-time position, which includes base pay and short-term incentive, is $88,000-$133,000 for candidates who are B.C. residents. Our salary ranges are determined by including roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
