Purpose of the job:
Undertake research, analysis, interpretation, solution development, and delivery of strategic and regulatory sustainability projects for internal and external parties. Support the identification and development of business opportunities, related to market conditions and requirements. Manage Interns and Analysts, where required.
What you will do:
- Carry out research, data analysis, solution development and report/present to clients and internal stakeholders in the topics of climate change and decarbonization (SBTi)
- Identify key client requirements and formulate bespoke strategic climate change and decarbonization solutions
- Hold client workshops, webex meetings and phone conferences to deliver/present strategies, including facilitating executive/elected official level presentations
- Analyze and benchmark company performance to support organizational goal setting (SBTi) and implementation planning
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary, or multi-workstream projects spanning various aspects of a clients sustainability platform in a collaborative and effective manner.
- Develop energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) / carbon emissions inventories, water footprints, waste footprints and other environmental inventories including data analysis, emission factor development, calculation methodology, web-system deployment
- Support clients' third party environmental reporting activities (CDP, GRESB, Ecovadis, GRI, DJSI)
- Develop or recommend initiatives and abatement models for achieving or informing corporate goals for energy reduction, green energy adoptions, or GHG reduction, including progress toward Net Zero goals
- Legislative & Policy monitoring, analysis, interpretation and communication (EMEA markets)
- ESG materiality / double materiality assessments
- Bespoke consultancy research, analytics and deliveries
- Development of creative commercial regulatory/legislative solutions
- Reporting on project KPIs and performance
- Coordination and collaboration with internal resources to deliver project solutions/client outputs on time, and to a high standard
- Assist in operational efficiency improvement through initiating and supporting initiatives to enhance operations
- Provide sales support and client-scoping calls when necessary
What we need from you:
- University/College degree (Sustainability-related Degree preferred)
- 5+ years sustainability related experience
- Proven track record in developing, managing, and executing client solutions
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel is a must (knowledge of Excel formulas and functions)
- Advanced knowledge of global GHG accounting protocols and reporting programs (CDP, DJSI, etc)
- Experience in conducting ESG materiality assessments
- Advanced understanding of European sustainability finance and carbon regulations
