Schneider Electric IT Corporation seeks a Senior Power Electronics, Design Engineer in Andover, MA.

Job Description: Lead the design of circuitry for power systems and supplies - AC to DC, DC to DC, low power bias supplies, power converters, power factor correction, power feedback control, system control signals and system communication signals using analog and digital components. Simulate circuits to demonstrate expected circuit performance. Develop schematics for these circuits. Work with Mechanical Engineers to ensure the circuit design will accommodate the design envelope. Work with the System Architect to develop signals and methods of detection for circuits. Work with Firmware Engineers to help test and develop embedded code uses to operate the system. Design the printed circuit board layout in conjunction with the PCB designer to optimize the electrical performance and meet compliance expectations. Create Worse Case Analysis (WCA) and Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) of circuit designs to demonstrate circuits will perform as expected and have appropriate design margin. Bench test and verify circuity using lab equipment. Validate test reports and results from junior engineers and technician and present to technical leaders for validation. Create specifications, test, validate and approve components used in the design. Perform system integration testing of designed circuits to endure proper functionality. Troubleshoot and resolve complex circuit issues that are found during the test process and DVT. Work with Industrialization teams to prepare designs for production.

Requirements: Position requires a Master's or Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field and progressive, post-Bachelor's experience (1 year with Master's or 3 years with Bachelor's) in power electronics hardware electrical engineering design or related occupation, which must include at least some experience in the following skills: Designing and testing complex power supply circuitry (PFC, Inverters, Battery Chargers, Power Supplies, Control Circuits); Troubleshooting complex electronic circuits to the component level; Designing control theory, power electronics, and analog and digital circuits using PCB design tools (Cadence, PADS); Designing offers from technical specifications to meet customer value expectations and quality goals with respect to supply chain constraints; Testing product compliance (EMI/EMC, Product Safety and Environmental Conformance); Firmware and digital control (DSP., FPGA); Performing design verification testing of complex power supply circuits and systems using simulation tools (PSpice, MathCad); and Electronic and electro-mechanical components (FET, IGBT, SiC, GaN, Diodes, transformers, inductors and passive devices).
