The Senior Logistics Specialist will be coordinating, performing (as appropriate) import of materials, equipment, tools, spare parts, consumables, and export of the finish goods required by the Project Management Team to Customers/End Users.

This role will be instrumental in meeting the Delivery Schedules of the Customer.
The position will report to the Regional Procurement lead and will operate as part of the Project Procurement Team in Dubai.
Knowledge of the local Customs rules and Delivery Inco terms is essential; the ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate proactivity . Organizing and managing inventory, storage, and transportation of Materials locally and internationally. Keeping Track for Freight Expenses and coordinating with various freight forwarders for arranging Transportation.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Coordinating transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments.
- Plan and track the shipment of final products according to customer requirements.
- Follow up with Freight Forwarders to meet Delivery deadlines.
- Prepare pre-shipment checklist to ensure all export and import customs requirements is met before the shipment.
- Coordinate with Quality Team to ensure Quality check is completed for Inbound deliveries.
- Work closely with the Project team members, Customers and Freight Forwarders.
- Places a strong emphasis on material and transportation operations and cost management.
- Coordinate with Packers to schedule and carry out Packing as per Project specification and SE Standard.
- Adhere to any local health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff, and visitors.
- Knowledge on procedures and requirements for movement of goods, imports, exports, local / domestic shipments in JAFZA
- Responsible for GRN in SAP and processing all Freight and Material related invoices.
- Responsible for Stock maintenance and physical inspection of all incoming material deliveries.
- Ensure to obtain all customs documents which should comply with Schneider Electric compliance and policies.
- Degree or Diploma in Logistics /Supply Chain Management/ Engineering.
- 7-10 years experience in Logistics
- Previous experience of working in a Logistics team preferably within a Project environment.
- Computer literate using supply chain software's and advanced Excel skills/abilities.
- Ability to multi-task and good communication skills
- Experience of working closely with various Freight Forwarders.
- Able to add value, reduce Freight and Transportation costs and input to business improvements.
- Hands on experience in Custom clearance & dispute resolution.
- Knowledge in HS code classification.
