Senior Legal Counsel - Artificial Intelligence

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated In-House Legal Counsel to provide expert legal support on Artificial Intelligence (AI) topics. The successful candidate will work closely with our AI Hub, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and addressing the unique legal challenges associated with AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Legal Advisory: Provide comprehensive legal advice on AI-related matters, including data privacy, intellectual property, liability, and regulatory compliance in close coordination with the other functions in group Legal team.

• Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies and guidelines related to AI usage and governance.

• Compliance: Ensure that all AI initiatives comply with applicable laws and regulations, including data protection laws in collaboration with DP Office.

• Contract Templates: Develop and implement templates of clauses covering AI technologies embedded in SE's offers.

• Contract Review: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to AI technologies, including licensing agreements, partnership agreements, and vendor contracts.

• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with AI projects and initiatives.

• Training and Education: Conduct training sessions for internal teams on legal issues related to AI, promoting awareness and understanding of legal requirements and best practices.

• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and business leaders, to provide legal support and guidance on AI projects.

• Monitoring and Reporting: Stay updated on the latest legal developments in AI and report on potential impacts to the company.

Qualifications:

Education: Juris Doctor (JD) / Master degree from an accredited law school.

Experience: Minimum of 6 years of legal experience, with a focus on technology law, data privacy, and intellectual property. Experience with AI-related legal issues is highly desirable.

Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Certifications: Admission to the bar in at least one jurisdiction will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in-house at an industrial / technology company.

• Familiarity with AI technologies, or at least Digital Technologies, and their applications.

• Strong understanding of global data protection laws and regulations.

• Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and build strong relationships.

• High ethical standards and integrity.
