For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $200,320 - $300,480 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric also offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees, inclusive of medical (with member reward points), dental, vision, and basic life insurance, Benefit Bucks (credits to apply towards your benefits) flexible work arrangements, paid family leaves, 401(k) + match, well-being and recognition (including service anniversary) programs, 12 holidays per year, 20 days of paid time off per year (pro-rated in the first year of employment based on start date), opportunity to purchase company stock (eligibility depends on start date), and military leave benefits.

Venture Building Practice

Our early-stage venture building practice is a founder-led program. It identifies high-growth potential opportunities from entrepreneurs, universities, and early-stage companies. We nurture these ideas, transforming them into scalable ventures by facilitating the formation of founding teams, providing market insights, articulating business plans, and offering seed financing.

We are in search of a Head of our Venture building practice in Silicon Valley. This individual will animate a community of bold founders, take ownership of results, and engage with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses a fervor for innovation, a dedication to sustainability, extensive knowledge of ClimateTech, and a proven ability to leverage networks and align multiple stakeholders.

The candidate should exhibit robust leadership skills, a track record of success in a similar role, and a deep understanding of the silicon valley company building/early-stage startup ecosystem. Background experience in entrepreneurship, or venture capital is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Build and animate a community of bold founders passionate about sustainability.
  • Work with our analysts and experts to identify untapped market opportunities in Climate Tech and Industrial Tech.
  • Define and run our venture building program with selected founders.
  • Coordinate and manage the venture building process, including providing access to resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities, and securing investment approval from SE Ventures Investment Committee.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to newly incorporated startups to support their growth up to a real market fit.
  • Serve as a board director for our portfolio companies.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to foster relationships and promote the company's venture building program.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Master, MBA, PhD, or equivalent experience
  • Profile: 5-15 years' experience in venture studio / pre-seed investment fund.
  • Company buildings skills, ideally former entrepreneur
  • Good knowledge of the Silicon Valley early-stage ecosystem
  • Demonstrated capability to manage uncertainty, leverage networks, and align multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent knowledge of Climate Tech and Industrial Tech markets
