Schneider Electric is excited to offer an opportunity to join our team in Victoria, BC Canada. In this role, you will help build the next generation of our Advanced Power Metering products such as the ION9000 and PM8000. Our team's flagship product, the ION9000, won the 2021 Engineers' Choice award! Our Power meters are installed around the world and help organizations measure carbon emissions, reduce their energy consumption, and increase power reliability. Responsibilities & Position Overview
Generally, the Senior Embedded Designer is responsible for delivering new features or quality enhancements to our products. This is a collaborative role, working with a team in end-to-end feature implementation, with activities ranging from design to coding, peer review, and testing. Examples of day-to-day activities include:
• Reviewing end user needs and establishing feature requirements and verification criteria
• Developing feature designs collaboratively with other designers and architects
• Participating in risk analysis considering safety, cyber security, and quality
• Writing and peer reviewing embedded firmware code and unit tests- typically in C or C++.
• Implementing automated tests in Python or performing functional testing in our lab.
• Mentoring other team members
The Senior Designer is a dynamic role that leverages a diverse array of skills. Each day will have new and exciting problems to solve and growth opportunities ready to be captured. Within this role there are professional training, personal growth, and mentorship opportunities. For candidates interested in obtaining P.Eng designations, our site is recognized by Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) and we have Professional Engineers on staff.
What qualifications will make you succesful?
• A degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or relevant experience
• Coding and debugging experience, especially in C, C++ and python
• Experience with software engineering principles and software design patterns
• Experience working with embedded systems and real time operating systems
• Firmware or software testing experience

The compensation range for this full-time position, which includes base pay and short-term incentive, is $88,800-$133,200 for candidates who are B.C. residents. Our salary ranges are determined by including roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric also offers an inclusive benefits package to support all of our employees such as flexible work arrangements, paid family leaves, pension matching, well-being programs, holidays & paid time off, and more.
