Schneider Electric is growing, and we are now looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to join our team in Ballerup.
As an Automation Engineer at Schneider Electric, you are part of a team of dedicated people who work to complete projects and accommodate the needs of many interesting customers. You will work with PLC, HMI, and SCADA in combination with state-of-the-art hardware for electrical power distribution systems. Solutions combine both hardwired as well as communication for data acquisition and networks with various protocols are used.
In this role, you will be a key player in executing the project, and you will be able to participate from start to finish. This means that you will take part in the preliminary phases of the project and collaborate with sales to ensure the agreement of specifications and requirements from the customers. From there, you will get the chance to drive the project all the way to the finish line and be a part of testing and commissioning as well. Throughout the process, you will keep in contact with both the project manager and the clients to ensure a strong relationship and effective process.

Projects will differ in size and scale and will include deliveries of smaller stations to full delivery of power equipment for major developments. You will be responsible for carrying out all necessary programming, testing, commissioning, and related documentation. Most solutions will deal with voltage levels between 400V-20kV, and sites will mostly be in Denmark.
What you will do:
- Working on both smaller and large projects from start to finish
- SCADA, HMI, and PLC programming (ST, FBD) and commissioning
- Network and gateway configuration and commissioning
- Engaging with customers to determine specifications
- Working primarily with switchgear and other HW for monitoring and control
- Test and commissioning on site
What will help you succeed in this role?
As a person, you are driven by learning new things and eager to develop your professional skills as an Automation Engineer. You are proactive and independent, but you also know how to collaborate within a team. You have to be passionate about the work and about creating the best solution possible.
We are looking for you, who is also willing to travel occasionally, as an important part of your daily tasks is to be in contact with customers and project managers, and to make visits for SAT and commissioning. Furthermore, you should be able to communicate in both English and Danish since you will be working with local clients.
For qualifications, we expect you to have experience and skills with:
- Electrical engineering
- HMI and SCADA
- PLC programming (does not have to be Schneider PLC)
- Dealing with technical clients, preferably in the field of power distribution
- Working independently with automation projects
- Knowledge in ethernet networks and preferably one or several communication protocols like Modbus, Modbus TCP, IEC61850, IEC60870-5-104 or DNP3.
