Description of the Building Segments
The Building Segments is one of the 6 Strategic Segment Organizations at Schneider Electric and drives c. ~2bn of orders annually. The Segment teams contribute to the group's agenda on superior growth, with a specific focus on digital, software, services and sustainability. They deliver their mission by (i) acting as the trusted technology partner to the Group's global strategic accounts in each of the 6 segments (ii) creating differentiation for the Group through innovation & solution leadership and (iii) nurturing the sector expertise by developing trainings & thought leadership for internal and external use.
The Building Segments team leverages all Schneider Electric technologies to make Building Portfolios, Building Assets and Spaces we live in everyday more Sustainable, Efficient, Resilient and People-Centric. The team delivers this value proposition across 5 practices: Healthcare, Hotel, Retail, Real Estate with demand generation objectives (ultimately leading to Orders), and with a team composed of practice leaders, account managers, solution specialists and strategic marketeers. The Building Segments organization functionally reports into Digital Energy, a division of the Energy Management Business of Schneider Electric, yet its scope is global and not limited to Digital Energy technologies.
Description of the role & responsibilities of the Segment Solution Consultant
The Segment Solution Architect and Technology Leader is a role, with a specific intent to focus on complex Smart building applications in the Commercial Real Estate sector. The role functionally reports into the Solutions Director as part of solutions specialist's team with the mandate to focus on all opportunities involving complex IT/OT architectures across all Building Segments, with a particular , where those opportunities are most prevalent.
The Segment Solution Architect and Technology Leader will be the catalyst and champion of innovation for Smart, Multi-site buildings and IT/OT convergence and will be responsible for influencing and supporting strategic customers in the digitalization of their buildings' portfolio. The role will be a champion for the Middle East and Africa region and India to provide advanced support and coaching to support the local business. They will be responsible to take lead on customer 'Value Discovery WorkShops' to uncover and capture the customers use cases, lead the definition of the IT/OT reference architecture to be proposed (involving data strategy, integration and interoperability requirements and the application of Analytics) and provide and explain the business value of the solution to meet the customer expectations.
Requirments for the role:
- Customer centric mindset: excellent customer relationship skills. Ability to create relationships quickly across customers' organizations.
- 10+ years experience within relevant (Sub-)Segment proofing her/his knowledge in this field
- Practical experience working in the Smart Buildings environment, with experience in deploying complex multi-site software solutions with a wide range of integrations
- Awareness of RESTful standards and web API's and good knowledge of standard building protocols
- Good understanding of networks and network design
- Experience in the development and influence of specifications to embed software in project requirements
- Strong capacity to foster collaboration & networking, and work transversally across the organization
- Structured way of working; Good attention to detail
- Confident speaker able to lead technical workshops with customers
- International, multi-cultural mind-set and approach
- Business Developer - Resourceful and self-starter attitude, interest to roll-up one sleeves, get things done and push the organization to deliver
- Team Player - Passionate and dynamic professional with the energy and ability to build trust and foster collaboration across a complex matrix environment; Collaborative team-oriented style.
- Role Model - Demonstrates strong personal leadership in line with Schneider Electric values.
Work experience:
- 10 + years of experience in Smart Building or IoT or MSI projects
- Good knowledge of electrical distribution with experience in distributed energy resources and microgrids
- Candidate has excellent networking capabilities and the ability to lead other teams and groups.
- Certifications: having a Green certifications AP or Electrifier recognition in relevant field is a plus
- Market: experience with the commercial mandatory
- Education: Bachelor's degree, Master's degree in a relevant field, is a plus
- Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English; Any other language is a plus
- Other: excellent MS PowerPoint and Excel skills, and presentation writing skills
- Travel: In a regular year, this position would travel at least once a quarter. Travel locations likely to include other Schneider Electric locations across the world or clients' sites within key geographies (US, Europe or Asia / Singapore)
