SCADA Engineer

Schneider Electric is searching for a talented SCADA Engineer who will aid and support engineering design services for assigned and legacy projects from the time assigned until commissioned in the field.

This SCADA Engineer is self-motivated and collaborative. They are flexible and open to new ideas and challenges. They are detail oriented, and solutions focused. They are Impact Makers at Schneider Electric!

As a SCADA Engineer, a typical day for you might include:

  • Works with Test in troubleshooting designs and completing projects by freely and openly collaborating with Test Technicians
  • Coordinates and completes projects by mentoring/guiding/training designers, associate engineers, product engineers and electrical engineers.
  • Maintains Product and company reputation by complying with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Expected to work independently and with assistance from other sources such as engineering, project management, purchasing etc...
  • Supports legacy products for the lifetime of the product.
  • Designs custom programming code from scratch where no template may exist.

And on some days, you may :
  • Evaluates assigned projects by designing and conducting research around custom specifications and applying knowledge of software and electronics.
  • Releases projects to manufacturing by assembling bill of materials, generating communication network diagrams, developing application specific programs and manuals.
  • Contributes to the development of Templates and design standards.
  • Maintains drawing and program revisions by issuing Engineering Change Notices.
  • May be required to represent assigned and not assigned engineering functions during the Factory Witness Tests.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required.

This may be the next step in your career journey if you have:
  • 4 year engineering degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
  • Entry level to 3 years of professional experience in Communication Network design activities, script based programming, meeting schedules and providing technical support.
  • Thorough understanding of the fundamental concepts involved in Binary numbering Systems, Boolean Logic, Script based programming and communication network architecture and design.
  • Installation and configuration of software applications and drivers.
  • AutoCAD, File Management Software, Jobscope/JDE, Wonderware and Microsoft Applications.
  • Strong spatial recognition skills.
  • Ability to multitask while identifying and communicating scheduling conflicts in a timely manner.
  • Ability to follow precise procedures and thoroughly complete assigned tasks by using strong follow-up skills.
