Overall Summary
Oversees, monitors, reports and executes all aspects of the industrial and physical security programs and activities across assigned facilities. The role delivers formal and informal training, conducts compliance assessments, designs and implements physical security infrastructure recommendations, processes, and plans to support the U.S. Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT), North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC CIP), International Standard ISO/IEC 27001 and Schneider Electric Global Security Directives. Conducts regular reviews of assigned facilities, assesses and implements corrective measures addressing the functionality of security systems (access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, visitor control) and processes, and delivers enhanced training on security operations, sensitive information and technology protection, and workplace violence prevention and response.

Primary & Essential Accountabilities
- Designs security plans and implements operations to preclude physical access by unauthorized persons, damage and interference to the organization's infrastructure, sensitive information and manufacturing and distribution operations.
- Implements, manages and evaluates compliance with government and company security policies, procedures and physical security operations; designs and implements site-level programs; provides guidance and direction to multiple facilities.
- Provides effective training through a variety of modes (e.g., webinars, in-person, exercises) to promote comprehension of workplace violence prevention, threat reporting and actions to take in response to an unauthorized intruder or hostile workplace event.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of existing security practices and recommends the type of control requirements and procedures needed to mitigate risks to personnel, operations and infrastructure.
- Conducts periodic reviews and assessments to assure that organizational personnel are adhering to established policy and practices; recommends appropriate action to correct deficiencies.
- Ensure systems monitoring of CCTV, intrusion detection and access control systems are performed in a manner consistent with applicable regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Directly involved with the engineering design, installation and operation of security systems projects when needed. Responsible for promoting ongoing internal and vendor relationships.
- Assesses and validates on-site contract security personnel to ensure adherence to established contract requirements; makes recommendations to reduce risk and enhance vendor performance.
- Conducts collateral security awareness trainings, including pre- and post-travel, workplace violence prevention, and suspicious incident reporting to site personnel; may lead table-top and live exercises as needed to enhance performance and reduce risk.
- Control scene of criminal activities until proper authorities have arrived. Effectively communicate with all levels of management and coworkers. Conducts investigations into practices dangerous to security, theft and fraud.
- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to site leadership and outside agencies on all physical and industrial security matters; partners with appropriate site functional representatives (e.g., Human Resources (HR), Facilities, Safety) as appropriate
- Analyzes, interprets and executes periodic assessment results and corrective action plans to meet physical security standards; oversees reporting at security posture to site and regional leadership.
- Conducts inquiries and completes Reports of Investigation (ROI) on all industrial security matters; makes recommendations to local HR and supervisory personnel on disciplinary actions; provides ROI to leadership.
- Directly supports, coaches and assists Site Security Coordinators with understanding and implementing practices and processes to meet global security standards and applicable government requirements.
- Establishes and maintains liaisons with local and state law enforcement officials; promotes active partnerships to enhance cooperation between Schneider Electric and applicable government agencies.
- Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of Schneider Electric.
Secondary Accountabilities
- Possesses a working knowledge of CTPAT, NERC CIP, and ISO/IEC 27001 physical security regulations.
- Demonstrates ability to solve problems by analyzing information to resolve complex security issues.
- Oversees physical security and guard force operations, where applicable.
- Manages competing needs through prioritization of risks and implementation of compensatory security measures to mitigate threats.
- Performs independently, or with a group, on site, cluster, country or enterprise-level security projects designed to enhance the security posture and culture of Schneider Electric.
- Executes travel (up to 70%) to provide direct, hands-on support to regionally-assigned facilities.
For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $136,000 - $204,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent business training with 10+ years of experience.
- ASIS International Certified Protection Professional (CPP) strongly recommended.
- Working knowledge of industrial security programs supporting a wide variety of environments including office, manufacturing and distribution centers.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with peers, other functions and executives both verbally and in writing.
