R&D Vice President

Job Summary: As the Innovation & Technology R&D Vice President, leading the research and development efforts within the Industrial Automation Business unit. Primary responsibility is to drive innovation, oversee the development of new technologies, and ensure the successful execution of R&D projects. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including offer management, architects, and other R&D department, to enhance the company's digital presence and improve customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a 200+ R&D team across 4 sites (in USA, France, Germany, and India) with a 14 M budget, providing strategic direction and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of new technologies, products, and solutions to meet market demands and drive business growth, exploring how new technologies (Artificial Intelligence, 5G wireless, virtualization, cybersecurity, etc.) can be used innovatively in mission-critical industries (transport, manufacturing, energy generation, data centers, etc.).
  • Build platforming services and components for other entities within the organization.
  • Drive cross-organizational R&D efficiencies programs to go to market with faster innovations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of R&D initiatives with overall business strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of R&D projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with R&D activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Foster relationships with external partners, including universities, research institutions, and industry organizations, to stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, seminars, and other events to promote R&D achievements and build the company's reputation as a leader in innovation.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a senior R&D leadership role within the industrial automation or related industry, ideally in Schneider-Electric.
  • Strong background in innovation and technology development, with a track record of successfully bringing new products to market.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a strategic mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field is preferred.

Additional Information:
  • Frequent international travel is required to collaborate with global teams and attend industry events.
  • The role involves working closely with top collaborators and reporting to senior management.
