What will you do?
As a Project Development Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and delivering best-in-class microgrid solutions for our customers. Your primary focus will be overseeing the technical development and coordination of microgrid projects, co-leading proposal development, and supporting the broader project lifecycle from opportunity identification through execution. You will cultivate strategic partnerships across multiple lines of business, as well as with third parties as necessary, while leveraging your expertise in the energy industry, particularly in new energy landscapes, electrification, performance contracting, and Energy as a Service.
- Support Microgrid Commercial Sales Teams in customer engagements through solutions development, technical and economic option analysis, commercial execution options, and proposal development.
- Facilitate coordination among Schneider Electric sales, consulting, power systems and microgrid controls line of business and execution teams.
- Request and review customer documentation (single line drawings, energy interval data, load profiles, utility bills, site plans, etc.).
- Develop conceptual microgrid designs around customer requirements for switchgear, controls and various DER (solar PV, battery energy storage, rotating machines, combined heat and power (CHP) systems, fuel cells, etc. as appropriate to the project.
- Provide customer-facing project support, including client presentations, energy modeling and tariff analysis.

What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
- Proven experience in proposal development for complex technical projects.
- Strong understanding of microgrid technologies, including PV systems, generators, fuel cells, battery energy storage, microgrid controls and optimization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience with energy modeling software (e.g., Energy ToolBase, HelioScope, HOMER, ReOpt, Xendee, custom Excel modeling, etc.) a plus
- Familiarity with renewable technology and system design, electrical infrastructure equipment design and specification (low and medium voltage), site electrification.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

- Familiarity with renewable technology and system design, electrical infrastructure equipment design and specification (low and medium voltage), site electrification
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in microgrid design and implementation.
- Experience in solution architecting
- Proven track record presenting to C-level business executives.
