The activity for which you'll bring your expertise is Drives' Activity. This perimeter includes all of those areas: Power Conversion and Motor Control enabling Energy Efficiency , Application Control or Functional Safety enabling Solutions for customers , Ethernet, Web Servers, and DTM enabling Digitization and Services and AI for predictive and preventive maintenance.

Your role:

As a Senior Principal Project Design Leader at Multi Technologies, you will report to the System Definition & Architecture Manager (Rudolf Fehringer) and you will drive the technical excellence of the Drives activity, influencing the technical direction during offer creation. You will lead engineering project teams in developing new offers or evolving existing ones.

Your missions:
  • Leadership: Lead engineering project teams in developing new offers or evolving existing ones.
  • Architecture & Design: Facilitate and drive architecture and design definition and implementation. Ensure alignment with Marketing requirements and stakeholder needs (service, manufacturing, quality, reliability, sustaining engineering).
  • Design Team Coordination: Coordinate and drive design decisions with the project team and key stakeholders, maintaining customer value.
  • Risk Management: Analyze, anticipate, quantify, and mitigate risks (technical, schedule, manufacturability, application). Maintain a risk register and follow mitigation plans.
  • Testing: Accountable for the creation of a test plan for product platform verification and validation.
  • Planning & Monitoring: Create work breakdowns, direct packages to design teams, and monitor activities to meet program goals. Establish program plans and budgets, including resource projections. Provide performance feedback to team managers.
  • Communication: Rephrase and summarize technical explanations for a broad audience.
  • Accountability: Ensure product performance, robustness, and quality. Contribute to cost evaluation and achievement of cost targets.
  • Manufacturing Launch: Prepare product manufacturing launch with industrialization teams.
  • Customer Focus: Build good relationships and resolve conflicts effectively.


Your profile:
  • 5 years' higher education in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • You have a minimum of 10 years' experience in R&D


Your competences:
  • Strong knowledge of industrial product development or related fields.
  • Lean/Agile mindset is a must.
  • Ability to work in multicultural and multinational teams.
  • Analytical thinking, flexibility, independence, and resilience.
  • Experience in Variable Speed Drives and System Engineering is a plus.
  • Previous experience with development cycles is desirable.
  • English proficiency is mandatory; French is a plus.
  • At least 10 years of R&D experience.
  • Experience as an Engineering Project Manager or equivalent is needed
