Commercial Buildings consume 33% of the world's energy consumption & it's where people spend most of their time indoors. Buildings need a brain to intelligently manage & control many sub-systems and thousands of connected data points to help Building owners create a productive and comfortable environment for its occupants, reduce energy consumption and run building operations efficiently. The Digital Buildings business of Schneider Electric provides intelligent building management systems through its EcoStruxure Building and SpaceLogic portfolio of solutions.

We are looking for a smart and talented Product Marketing Manager who will ensure our offers are presented in a clear and concise manner that continuously highlights customer benefits.

Primary Function



Reporting to the VP of Product Management, the ideal candidate will maintain an exceptional understanding of both products and the market in order to explain the value to internal and external stakeholders including country offer managers, the global sales team, customers, analysts, and the media. This role partners closely with the Director of Strategic marketing and entire team of Offer Managers to help define personas and act as the voice of the customer in all related activities. Additional responsibilities will include:
  • Setting and communicating the products' positioning, key value-based messages, and buyer insights to cross-functional teams.
  • Leading product launches and making sure that customers understand the value of the product through website updates, content, and sales collateral.
  • Tracking and measuring the impact of launch campaigns at the regional level
  • Acting as a product expert for the global marketing team


Responsibilities

Demonstrates product knowledge

The product marketing manager understands and can articulate what makes our products unique. They will understand where the product sits in the marketplace and the key messages that resonate. With this knowledge they will inform and inspire the marketing and sales teams around the product's unique value- defining how it helps customer and stands out from the competition.

Demonstrates deep empathy for our customers

The Product Marketing Manager has a strong interest in understanding the pain points of our customers and understanding what they need from our offers in order to be successful. This role will require having a deep understanding of our key personas representing them well to other teams within the organization.

Demonstrate market awareness The Product Marketing Manager understands the product landscape, new competitors and the changing needs of customers. They can spot trends in the market and then adapt our product positioning to stay up to date with the changing industry and needs of our customers.

Go-to-market plan and execution Working closely with the global marketing launch lead the Product Marketing Manager excels at bringing our products to market. They act as the first line of launch support for all offer managers within previously defined product lines, which will include:
  • Attending Launch calls
  • Ensuring a regular and close follow up on product marketing launch deliverables/assets
  • Liaising with Global Marketing Communications to ensure proper planning of marketing materials, efficient revisions and stakeholder reviews
  • Communicating with the Global Launch leader to report on the status of deliverables
  • Reviewing and editing all materials prior to handoff to Global Marketing
  • Ensuring appropriate LoB leads are involved in the approval process

Drive Product Adoption

When new functionality releases, the Product Marketing Manager will define the right words to use to make that update clear, to ensure it explains how it solves a customer's pain point and in a manner that excites the customer.

Drive internal and external product communications

The role includes supporting and driving the execution of both product and technical announcements, to include:
  • Ensuring announcements align with existing product value proposition and upholds Digital Buildings marketing messaging
  • Establishing criteria and the process for when and why a Product or Technical announcement needs to be distributed
  • Ensuring all announcements have gone through the proper review channels
  • Posting, tagging, evaluating and archiving all announcements on the Extranet Partner Portal

Qualifications - External

This job is for you if you:
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Enjoy creating product marketing content
  • Possess the willingness to learn and understand our solution offers and strategy to effectively support our Digital Buildings business and align with our overarching company story
  • Have a sense of humor and can roll with an evolving, growing business

Qualification
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Marketing or similar roles
  • Experience in Building Automation or similar markets with deep appreciation for products/technologies that enable automation, efficiency, and productivity for human centric, efficient, and sustainable buildings.
  • Communications: Position requires effective communication across large groups of stakeholders at varying levels of the organization and across different global geographies.
  • Project management: Position requires continual management of projects, with many projects overlapping at any given stage of development. Effective time management, process management, and self-management required for successful execution, combined with the ability to manage stakeholders and progress project objectives.
  • Ability to work in dynamic international environment and manage through influence.
  • Bachelor's degree. Marketing, communications, or business focus desired, but preference will be given to relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a matrixed organization across a variety of geographies and cultures desired, including exposure to or experience performing in virtual environments.
