The Product Design Lead, Medium Voltage will oversee technical decision-making, risk management, and design feasibility evaluations at the squad level for a range of existing Medium Voltage products and projects related to their evolution. This is an individual contributor role.
What will you do?
- Lead the technical specification for the assigned Medium Voltage product range.
- Lead the Design Team according to robust design, reliability and simulation principles.
- Lead technical activities according to prioritization from the Product Owner.
- Drive evolution and standardization of system engineering processes.
- Oversee and communicate the identification of technical risks.
- Define and justify product design choices.
- Conduct the technical feasibility and define the sizing of the technical efforts; achieve sprint goals and deliver to the business.
- Achieve product technical validation according to customer requirements.
- Support the design for Test/Manufacturing/Assembly Approach; Cybersecurity, IP and Eco Design.
- Support customer cases and technical expertise; perform root cause analysis in collaboration with the business.
- Verify the Product through simulations and prototypes.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- 20% travel required to attend project meetings and to perform UL testing at laboratories.
- This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical domain (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.), plus 5 years of experience in design of medium voltage equipment and switchgear.
- IEEE / ANSI / UL testing requirements
- Knowledge of standards for MV Circuit Breaker test duties, Hi Pot, Partial Discharge, BIL, etc.
- Experience designing medium voltage switchgear equipment
- Good verbal and written communication skills, which includes ability in writing technical documents.
- Self-starter, team player, multi-tasking with good time management skills and the ability to function across organizational boundaries.
