Process Automation & IT Engineer

As a key member of the P-GIS (Primary-Gas Insulated) Industrialization team within the Power Systems organization in North America (NAM), you will be responsible for the development and qualification of process automation and IT of new product lines including MES (line supervision system), cybersecurity and network architecture definition.

Your expertise will ensure the manufacturing feasibility and operational efficiency of our Medium Voltage Offer while adhering to Schneider Electric's Performance System (SPS) principles and cybersecurity global rules. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance product quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness (could include robotic, AI, automation, smart tooling...).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Specify, implement, and qualify assembly technologies, processes, and testing equipment for production lines with special focus on automation part and smart devices.
  • Specify and control automation, network, and cybersecurity of the assembly line equipment according to Schneider Electric standard.
  • Ensure the testability of new product offerings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for assembly processes and testing equipment.
  • Ensure the deployment of the line supervision system (MES) on the assembly line for an End-to-End traceability.
  • Optimize industrial performance by promoting digitalization, late differentiation of products, and standardization.
  • Lead technical trials and tests to validate assembly technologies and support the installation and commissioning of equipment in manufacturing factories.
  • Collaborate with suppliers for equipment development and ensure compliance with Schneider global standards.
  • Perform risk analysis, FMEA, and detailed technical specifications for assembly processes.
  • Drive improvements in energy efficiency and minimize CO2 footprint within manufacturing processes.
  • Share digital expertise with local industrialization and manufacturing teams, promoting best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Continuously look for innovative technology that could be introduced to improve efficiency and quality of assembly lines.
  • Master's degree in automatism, IoT, Industrial computing, or digital engineering, or a bachelor's degree with substantial experience in digital production methods and industrialization.
  • Knowledge of Automatism (PL7-Pro, Unity, Vijeo, SoMove ...), IoT software (node red, Java...),
  • Familiar with test software (LabView, test stand...)
  • Knowledge in network architecture and communication (Modbus, Ethernet, CAN, ...), Data base (SQL...), Cybersecurity.
  • Knowledge of SPS, Lean Manufacturing, and assembly technologies.
  • Proven leadership skills to drive transformation and innovation, including risk analysis and decision-making.
  • Proficiency in project management processes.
  • Curiosity for new digital technology and Industry 4.0
