We are looking for a Principal, IT Platform Owner who enact strong power-coupling with the Digital Finance Transformation Team, and ERP/DFL Solution Owners, to ensure that the DFL Platform and associated architecture is aligned with the Digital Finance Transformation ambition regarding end to end touchless reporting. You will ensure that an appropriate digital IT landscape is jointly defined, designed, technically deployed, supported and sunset where required. Ensure that the technical operation of the IT platform is performing effectively, efficiently, and economically, leveraging automation, standardization and continuous improvement.

Make sure that the digital IT landscape complies with internal governance and rules such as crown jewels, application certification, data golden rules and cyber security.

Be a lead point of contact within Schneider Digital, facilitating and coordinating the provision of IT components and services by other Schneider Digital teams and external contractors, ensuring full support for the Statutory Reporting, Consolidation, and Group Performance roadmap. Achieve a high level of stakeholder satisfaction, stepping up to challenges with an agile 'can-do' attitude and taking care to build trusted, harmonious, transparent relationships with

'Customer First' as a primary value.

Main responsibilities:
  • Own and manage the DFL platform, and its associated middleware which is maintained and configured by Schneider Digital. Define and execute the IT application operational run strategy, securing the future of the applications through effective development, performance optimisation, database management, upgrade strategy, data management, archiving and Disaster Recovery Plans.
  • Manage the total digital cost of the DFL platform, including operating costs, licencing, development and run support, as well as IT cost associated with any Strategic Investment. Work to continuously optimise the total cost of ownership of the said IT application landscape.
  • Enact and maintain power-coupling with defined Capability Owners, ensuring smooth and effective collaboration. Together with Capability Owners co-define product roadmaps, product evolutions, new solutioning and appropriate deployment strategies, ensuring that the underlying DFL platform is suitable sized and positioned to meet the demands.
  • Work hand in hand with the Finance Centre of Excellence within Digital Technology Centre, ensuring smooth, seamless collaboration for effective technical deployment and run support. Take the leadership in maximising the run support value with DTC versus expensive external support.
  • Act as a key point of contact for escalations of techncial issues with associated applications. Ensure effective collaboration with the appropriate Schneider Digital teams to facilitate resolution within SLA timelines and minise business disruption and risk.
  • Be accountable for compliance with internal administrative and governance processes that must be folllowed to fulfil the missions and responsibilities of the role. Examples of these tasks include obtaining appropriate clearance and approvals for IT solutions and their data processing, validating technical specifications and ensuring IT platform documentation and information reporting are up to date, as well as other IT duties as appropriate.
  • Work with the Statutory Reporting, Consolidation and Group Performance Domain Leaders, Finance DigitalisationTeam and Schneider Digital experts to co-design the IT solutions required for the Capabilty t and their integration with other systems. Aim to achieve maximum standardisation and alignment with Schneider Digital's technology standards.

  • Adopt an agile 'can-do' customer first approach, always finding the most effective way to address or resolve stakeholders' expectations to their satisfaction. Keep an open mind on new approaches and technologies, aiming to address opportunities with speed and a 'dare to disrupt' mindset where required.


What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • University degree or further education degree in computer science or information technology
  • Masters degree in Information technology or equivalent
  • Fluency in English
  • Minimum 15 years of experience of managing IT solutions
  • 5 years working specifically as an IT platform owner
  • Digital Leadership responsibility covering at least one of the underlying crown jewel technologies
  • Strong technical expertise in IT solution management, Application integrations and SAP ERP finance modules.
  • Broad IT technical expertise is a prerequisite, but specific expertise in Group Reporting, Consolidation or Performance and related technologies is expected.
  • Strong skills in transverse, intercultural and remote management, able to function well in a geographically dispersed organisation with a remote manager.
  • Good interpersonal skills: listening, open-minded, curious, collaborative, an effective leader and motivator, facilitator, and negotiator.
  • A very effective verbal and written communicator with a strong abiliity to influence and direct others as well as to develop trusted relationships with stakeholders.
  • Very structured and organised, yet open-minded with a strong willingness to investigate and develop appropriate solutions to meet stakeholders' expectations.
  • Fundamentally agile, able to address changing needs flexibly, navigate challenges, adapt dynamically and focus on adding value and satisfying stakeholders.
