About the role

This role reports to the Europe Digital Data Hub Leader, inside Europe - Enterprise IT organization.

The key purpose of the Digital Data Hub team is to support precise and efficient decision making across the Europe region by advising on and delivering data products.

The team consists of profiles who are covering one or more of the following 3 main areas.
  • Business SPOC
  • Use case analysis.
  • Use case development.

The business SPOC role (Single Point of Contact) ensures that DDH is closely aligned with the Europe business data offices and there is one SPOC assigned to each data office, who is:
  • Advising on optimal data products to support business requirements and on how to utilize and improve the data products.
  • Promoting data policy/governance incl. data golden rules
  • Managing the full life cycle for new data use cases (demand, clarifying requirements, analysis, development, test and move to run)

The analysis role ensures clarity on requirements and design for the new use cases requested by the business data offices before handing over the use cases to the developers/data engineers , who are responsible for creating, maintaining, and improving the data products.

This work done within the 3 main areas involves close collaboration with key stakeholders from global data and Intel DS platform teams.

The DDH coordinator will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the DDH team and is collaborating closely with the DDH leader on the development of the team in terms of strategy, delivery model, ways-of-working, staffing etc. The coordinator will also be recognized as part of the European Data Delivery leadership and participate in the Data Delivery network to share best practices and collaborate on the evolution of Global Data Strategy.

The key responsibilities are:
  • Work closely with the DDH leader on the development of the DDH strategy, delivery model, ways-of-working, budget and staffing.
  • Act as daily operations coordinator for the DDH team supporting team members as needed to ensure planned progress of the running sprint.
  • Provide leadership, technical guidance, training and mentoring to DDH team members in areas of acquired/assigned expertise, including external consultant partners - knowledge sharing is key to our success.
  • Maintain ERP knowledge (mainly SAP) to translate business needs to data models (star schema) or to collaborate with data architect to define them.
  • Work closely with global data teams to stay updated on development and influencing technical and business members at different levels of the organization to ensure data models align to strategic objectives, considering current need and future potential.
  • Be the SPOC for the other DevOps in Europe E IT and be involved in all projects that have data in their scope. Elaborate for the future the strategy to act as Delivery Team within Europe E IT: preparing for example data and show in Tableau to help any activity in one DevOps (assets report, for example).
  • Stay abreast of industry standard and cutting-edge technologies through whitepapers, vendor-based collaboration and literature, and technical newsgroups - sharing the research with all members of the DDH team and extended community through our internal collaboration tools.
  • Collaborate with the DDH technical leader on architecture/technology decisions and when negotiations, alternatives or rejection of business requests are needed (e.g., if no suitable technological solution is available)
  • Collaborate with the DDH technical leader on to ensure efficient application of current and appropriate emerging technologies in the development of quality products within the constraints of time and budget.
  • Support DDH team SPOCs to ensure they are covering assigned Data Office priorities and are ensuring alignment to data strategy at Global level. This includes ensuring the SPOCs are providing advisory to the data offices and managing the full use case life cycle (demand, clarifying requirements, analysis, development, test and move to run)
  • Contribute to the development of use cases by
    • Clarifying requirements and conducting analysis as needed
    • Performing test of solution prior to UAT, liaising with the Developers.
    • Working with SPOCs to ensure efficient billing and recharges as needed.
  • Contribute to the improvement of Data Maturity in Europe, by being ambassador of RDOs and Golden Rules in Europe. Be the referent to other Delivery Teams and extend Best Practices adopted in Europe.
  • Act as project manager for specific data projects (allocation as PM is decided in dialogue with DDH manager)
  • Support projects during execution for risk migration and in case of escalations (allocation as project support is decided in dialogue with DDH manager)
  • Collaborate with Scrum master and DDH manager to drive the Europe BI community ensuring community members are updated on strategies, priorities, and deliveries as well as relevant regional/global projects/programs.

Job Related Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with full software development lifecycle on BI projects and support experience.
  • Strong knowledge about SAP ERP (preferred Sales or Financial modules): Processes and tables (data) involved in the processes.
  • Experience with schema design and data modelling
  • Experience with data objects and/or business processes and data objects/flows belong to them.
  • Proven ability to effectively move forward on tasks even with ambiguous or changing requirements.
  • Proven consultancy experience, with the ability to form collaborative, productive working relationships across diverse teams and cultures is a must.
  • Proven ability and initiative to learn and research new concepts, ideas, and technologies quickly.
  • Proven track record and ability to train and teach others.
  • Experience with people management is a plus.

Certifications:

N/A, DCAM will be a plus.

Technical Skills:
  • ERP: SAP ECC/BW
  • Data bases: RedShift, PostgreSQL, Oracle...
  • ETL tools: Informatica PowerCenter, PL/SQL, ODI...
  • Analytical Data modelling knowledge (DWH, STAR schema, Kimball...)
  • BI tools: Tableau, QlikView, PowerBI...
  • Awareness and ability to work with both agile & iterative waterfall methodologies.
  • Strong systems/process orientation with demonstrated analytical thinking, organization skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Broad IT knowledge and experience
  • Previous experience from similar industries is an advantage.
