Position Summary
  • Maintain and own the MCCB and ACB offer within NAM - PowerPacT and MasterPact Circuit Breakers
  • Lead a team of Electromechanical Project Engineers assigned to support GSC production lines and localization projects


Roles & Responsibilities
  • Responsible to create and review verification and validation plans
  • Apply methodical problem-solving techniques (e.g. 5 Whys and 8Ds) and tools (e.g. Fishbone Diagram) to solve problems
  • Responsible for the validation of FAIRs and Pilot Run reviews
  • Actively support Global Supply Chain Manufacturing Plants in North America
  • Audit the manufacturing facilities of assigned product family to help ensure product compliance to applicable regulatory standards (e.g. UL, IEC, ANSI)
  • Validate bills of materials and CAD drawings of parts and sub-assemblies in accordance with technical specifications, customer expectations, and supply chain constraints
  • Execute assigned product design changes - drawings and BOMs according to given technical specifications using dedicated tools (software, database, 2D and 3D CAD system)
  • Responsible for engineering analysis activities, including Thermal, Electromagnetic, Dynamical, and Structural, to ensure the adequate performance, quality, and reliability of the product
  • Ensure compliance to ratings, product specifications, and standard requirements (UL, CSA, NOM, CCC, and IEC)
  • Create and execute verification & validation plans in SE laboratories
  • Analyze results and share reports with internal and external customers (with possible support)
  • Lead internal and external customer returns analysis
  • Lead and execute Circuit Breaker projects, coordinating project scheduling, planning, and safety reviews
  • Circuit Breaker production line engineering qualification
  • Design offers from technical specifications to meet customer value expectations and quality goals with respect to supply chain constraints
  • Interpret test results and synthesize data into technical reports to effectively convey summary and conclusions to the audience (e.g. peers, management, product owners, scrum masters)
  • Lead the creation and update of Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (xFMEA) documents to reflect product design changes
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, instructions/assistance to other senior engineers or functions
  • Contribute actively to knowledge and know-how development and sharing

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or related field or equivalent expertise in electromechanical design in electrical distribution products
  • At least 10+ years of relevant experience in electromechanical mass production industries
  • Experience in Product Testing and Evaluation Methods (UL/ CSA/NOM/ IEC/ CCC/ ANSI)
  • Deep knowledge of circuit breaker products, theory, and application
  • AGILE Methodology knowledge and experience
  • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing and 3D CAD Modeling
  • Knowledge of first principles of Physics and Engineering Practice
  • Metal stamping, thermoset and thermoplastic molding processes
  • Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly techniques
  • Proven ability to work successfully in a multicultural virtual environment across various functions (design engineering, purchasing, quality, marketing, finance, manufacturing operations and others)
  • Proven ability to influence and convince through negotiation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead R&D projects
  • Travel required ~30% - Travel to NAM GSC Manufacturing Plants (USA and Mexico)

  • Interpersonal skills (ability to interact with other functions, North America and overseas)
  • Motivated self-starter, able to work in parallel on multiple projects
