Mission:

This position is accountable for all technical aspects of customer and services projects from start to finish so that they are completed in line with customer needs. This includes specification compliance ensuring zero on-site modifications. The individual in this position confirms customer requirements, which includes drawings, specifications, job site requirements, bill of material alignment with specifications & clarify exceptions/deviations. Liaises with project manager throughout complete process from initial internal kick off through to completion of on-site activities and utilising a base knowledge of Schneider Electric products and their use.

  • Takes ownership of the technical portion of customer projects from the internal kick off meeting and is responsible for understanding the project's requirement in terms of alignment with customer requirements, specification/standards compliance and becomes the point of contact for the project manager on all technical matters for the balance of project.
  • Attends internal kick off meetings with factories, alongside the project manager, to ensure product is aligned with customer requirements, specification/standards compliance and site-specific requirements or restrictions.
  • Review project scope in line with technical offers and propose value engineering where possible
  • Review factory drawings to ensure compliance and review and interpret returned customer comments
  • Assist project manager in developing a handover for services department focusing on efficiency for all site/commissioning activities
  • Coordinate across departments to development a knowledge of other and new Schneider products and drive product learnings to project managers and other team members to assist in cross business unit growth
  • Assist in creation of lessons learned post project and feeds back to tendering to ensure efficiency and compliance on future projects
  • Assist tendering department during pre-bid and offer development stage for new projects
  • Assist services sales teams with tender enquiries and coordinate with services team where required to propose best solution
  • Support the identification of new opportunities whilst attending customer sites to support Services Growth
  • Compares/differentiates/proposes alternate products with additional customer value compared to competition
  • Solves problems with customer interaction that results in positive feedback and improved relationship
  • Utilises a base knowledge of Schneider Electric products and their use and demonstrates an understanding of the fundamental knowledge, processes and terminology
  • Deep knowledge of medium voltage equipment including switchgear, protection relays and power transformers and low voltage equipment including switchgear, ACB's, MCCB's, metering, power factor correction, UPS etc. Schneider product knowledge preferable.

Education and Experience

Engineering education in Electrical Engineering - minimum degree (level 7) or equivalent in related engineering discipline with 5 years' experience
