Schneider Electric Consulting Services offers a full portfolio of power engineering services, including system studies, power system assessments and design. Schneider Electric Consulting Services is looking for an experienced Staff Power Systems Engineer (PSE) with a focus on electrical design activities.

The Staff PSE serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing technical leadership to develop innovative solutions to meet customer and business objectives. The Staff PSE develops strong relationships with internal and external customers to solidify their role as a Trusted Advisor.

A Staff PSE is expected to be the subject matter expert in their technical field, complete and/or support projects as a lead engineer/individual contributor, mentor junior engineers within the organization, and support the sales process for new opportunities.

The Staff Engineer with a design focus will be expected to have a deep understanding of the typical design process, from the initial front-end engineering work to the design document production process and ending with the final commissioning. They will also be able to develop scopes of work and pricing for design-based opportunities.

Typical Responsibilities:
  • Lead Engineer that provides direction and technical supervision of junior engineers and designers for completing complex projects.
  • Mentor other PSEs as the Subject Matter Expert within areas of engineering expertise or
  • Support business development and sales team in technical matters relating to new project opportunities to include proposal development, pricing opportunities, and customer facing discussions.
  • Customer facing responsibilities with a focus on managing project outcomes and client expectations.
  • Develop solutions to solve customer's power delivery needs.
  • Prepare engineering deliverables that include, but are not limited to, system assessments, one-lines, three-lines, schematics, cable schedules, details, equipment location plans, conduit plans, specifications, and other items as required for the project.


  • BS or MS in electrical engineering from an accredited university
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, MS Teams, AutoCad and any additional design application
  • Minim11m of fi 8rs of P.XnP.riP.nc:P. in nowP.r svstP.m rlP.sinn 8nrl P.nninP.P.rinn
  • Proficient with both medium voltage (69kV- 1000V) and low voltage (1000V - 120V) design activities
  • Understanding of power system modeling software, specifically ETAP and SKM
  • Experienced with power system protection concepts related to protective relaying, control, and automation of 3 phase power distribution systems

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineering license
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare designs for complex power distribution systems, including but not limited to: power substations, motor control centers, back-up power systems, microgrid systems, system protection and equipment modernization.
  • Experience with developing proposals for engineering projects.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to work well with all levels and types of people.
  • Excellent customer service and always striving to improve client relationships.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to compose and write reports, business correspondence, and contextualize engineering deliverables.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and colleagues within the organization.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to identify potential issues/ roadblocks and plan a contingency strategy.
  • Self-motivated and able to make quick decisions with little to no input from
  • Cool-Calm-Collected under pressure and in dynamic environments.
  • Able to handle multiple projects and tasks in a demanding
