Job title : Offer Quality -DFSR Practioner

Location : Leeds (ETO),UK

Mission :

The position is responsible for practicing and applying Design Reliability and Robustness processes, tools, software across several squads in its line of business or in its Hub to ensure that Schneider Electric products and solutions are designed to be safe, robust and reliable.

Main responsibilities

1) Understand and promote the business' DfSR of Leeds self developed products

2) Build the adoption of the key stakeholders on the business' DfSR of Leeds development team.

3) Assess and identify the critical elements of the offer at design level (system, subsystem, assembly, component))

4) Put together the key drivers of a logical DfSR risk assessment plan based on the risk level for the offer from safety, robustness and reliability perspective

5) Develop, execute, and report DfSR plan on a regular basis

6) Train and coach design engineering community with DfSR trainings, methods and tools to reach Robustness and Reliability targets

7) develop technical expertise on Leeds offer : Package substation and distribution transformers / MV and LV switchgear manufactured in Leeds factory.

Qualifications and experiences • Education:

Bachelor degree or 5 years Post Graduate degree / Master in Mechanical or Electrical

Higher degrees especially in Reliability engineering is preferred •

Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in engineering or quality field;

Experience in Design for reliability (DfSS, DfSR), power management, , electromechanical system is highly preferred •

Certified DFSS Black Belt internally at a leading company • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) at minimum or internally certified Reliability expert. • Experience with p-diagram driven DFMEA development • Advanced working level experience with Reliasoft and Minitab • Experience working in Agile Product Development environment • Customer oriented mindset, including Customer application knowledge • Intercultural skills and experience • Ability to mobilize and build cross-functional activities • Coaching skills is a plus

Experience in package substation or distribution transformer is a plus.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Analytical preferably engineering background (industrial, mechanical, electrical) etc.
  • Strong animation skills (communication, listen, coach and train, ability to challenge, influence and convince) this person will animate the designers and marketing (LOB)
  • Design experience in automotive, electromechanics, electronics, white goods
  • Experience in design quality fundamentals: design for 6 sigma, reliability, Design FMEA, Voice of customer, Mission Profile, P Diagram, design robustness
  • Fast learner, sharp, resilient (falls and comes back again), team player
