Microgrid Sales Commercial Leader

Schneider Electric is looking for a Sales Commercial Leader serving the Microgrid Market, primarily the Western US area. (Remote or Los Angeles)

As a Microgrid Sales Commercial Leader, you will be responsible for driving sales, business development, and thought leadership for our North America Microgrid Business. Your primary focus will be on developing and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, while also working with a team of sales professionals. You will cultivate strategic partnerships across multiple lines of business, while leveraging your expertise in the energy industry, particularly in microgrids, new energy landscapes, electrification, performance contracting, and Energy as a Service.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales
  • Meet or exceed annual quota attainment while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and effectively qualify sales leads and maintain a sales revenue pipeline as measured in Schneider Electric's internal CRM systems.
  • Consultative selling, account and customer relationship development at senior levels, as well as running complex high value sales strategies of multiple complex transactions. The ability to map customer value streams and frame up Schneider Electric solutions linking the quantified value delivered against customer business/financial targets.
  • Develop and execute on sales and business plans to achieve annual sales and business objectives and providing accurate and timely reports/forecasts.
  • Develop and lead a team selling approach and act as a liaison between customers and technical solution architects
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer needs, challenges, and pain points - providing both standardized and tailored solutions.
  • Strong ability to leverage CRM tools (Salesforce or similar) to manage and drive a mixed portfolio of business
  • Develop business solutions that solve customer application problems using Schneider Electric's portfolio of software solutions and related systems.
  • Industry Knowledge and Thought Leadership
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market dynamics, legislation/policies, and emerging technologies in microgrids, solar, energy storage, other distributed energy resources (DER), and new energy landscapes.
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including utilities, government agencies, contractors, and technology vendors.
  • Act as a thought leader, representing the company in industry events, conferences, and press engagements.
  • Collaboration and Communication
  • Collaborate on growth and customer experience initiatives with other sales/selling partners and cross-functional teams - including marketing, consulting, engineering, execution, and services to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Effectively communicate sales pipeline, strategies, and performance updates to leadership
  • Enhance customer satisfaction by ensuring clearly scoped projects, detailed proposals and project milestone meetings.

Education & Experience:
  • 4 Year Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is required, preferably Engineering
  • Minimum ten years relevant sales work experience required
  • Experience in enterprise solution selling experience and proven track record in selling/presenting to C-level business executives.
  • She/ he will have experience in business intelligence, content management, customer relationship management and/ or other web applications.
  • We are looking for someone with an established network of hardware, software, and solutions customers/contacts in the Microgrid Industry


SKILLS & ABILITIES :
  • Proven track record of sales leadership, with experience in leading a $100M+ high growth business
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of microgrid technologies, solar EPCs, and new energy landscapes.
  • Demonstrated experience leading project development teams. Familiarity with electrification, performance contracting, and Energy as a Service models will be beneficial.
  • Excellent sales, negotiation, and business development skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a sales team.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically, analyze market trends, and identify business opportunities.


Position can be located at Schneider Electric Hub location in the U.S, or remote. The position will involve travel of approximately 30-50%. It will report directly to the NAM Senior Director Microgrid Sales and will operate as the North America Microgrid Sales leader.

For this California based position, the expected compensation range is $ 160,800.00 - $241,200 per year, which includes base pay, commission and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
